2v2 Codenames tourney sign up - Page 4 - Puzzles and Other Games Forum

I mean I get the idea behind it. I'm just unsure when that was ever allowed. I've never seen it before and hadn't really seen it discussed to be approved. I mean I don't care cause it's not for money or w/e just seems...not needed. Like how long can people suggest their clues? Is it even within the rules before a board is randed?

In the "real game", most people are playing with friends, so they have a better idea of shared knowledge than random pairs on the internet, but any more than like a 4 post back-and-forth seems a little silly imo.

I think a little background before the tourney starts is totally fine. People don't even necessarily know what continent their partner lives on.

After a game, saying something like "I don't know anything about comic books or related movies, so avoid that next time" is also fine imo.

Getting a little background info on your partner before the start of a tourney has been standard for as long as I can remember. Not really sure why anybody would have an issue with it tbh.

I've played with most people enough that I really don't have to say anything usually, but letting someone know that I'm Australian is pretty important, since most people just sorta assume you're American unless you tell them otherwise.

It's better to give them that info before the game starts, rather than wait for them to give you clues you likely have no way of understanding.

If any of the busted out teams want to play a 2v2 with Tokyo and I, we'd be interested. It'd be our first run through, and not entirely clear on the way things operate (board, order of operations, etc), so would need just a tiny bit of help getting up and going.

Nich, you'd also be real good at helping with some of the basic stuff, you're good at explaining things. Tokyo has played the normal version, I've never played any, but I understand how the guesses work. If someone ever wrote up full rules that'd be helpful.

You can rand your own when starting a new series imo. Make/send the board and rand colors after

I'll go ahead and send you a board, and also send one to the other 2 so you are ready for game 2. Rand game 3 in thread if necessary

Our people not using the 800 list? I've repeatedly put in the word input spot "Use the 800 list" and it now has titty written there. It's important we're ALL using the 800 board for every game.
