-- Play eb's brackets up to game 16
-- Have the winners of games 7, 8, 15, and 16 meet in the semifinals
-- Run the semis as Page playoffs

I'll rand teams. The list will determine match-ups as well. Team A vs B, C vs D, etc.

We'll do some kind of triple elimination. I don't have a strong preference for how we do the end, but we can get the ball rolling on round one in the mean time.

I think we might want to keep it simple and use the bracket as-in. I'm open to alternate methods if people feel strongly about it.

Make your own threads please. The title should probably include the team letters and the game number on the bracket. "Codenames 2v2 game 3: E vs F" or something similar.

I just took a picture of a handwritten bracket. If anybody wants to come up with a better way, feel free. I didn't feel like constructing a bracket in a Google doc or something.

It should be:

1. Rand round one
2. Round two switch color
3. Round 3 rand

Too much advantage for red to not let it be even the first 2 rounds

Is there a significant advantage for red? I used to think so, but I've become less sure over time.

I was just trying to streamline things by avoiding any 3rd party randing. If people want guaranteed color switching, we can go with it.

Just to be clear, I was thinking in the triple elimination format, each match is only one game.

We can't guarantee color switching even if we wanted to from round to round of the tourney.

Only one game per round? Not a fan of that especially with red advantage, but also because so much less games, but if people want less commitment that makes sense

If that’s the case then yeah just rand color for each round.

Still no harm in getting the first game going.

Fine with whatever. I prefer 3 game series as 1 game is obv pretty rand. No preference on single vs triple elim.

Agree with preference for a 3-game series -- assumed that was the case already.

One of the reasons I suggested a modified triple-elimination format was to reduce the number of three-game series, though looking at it again, it would only be from 22 to 20 -- not much less.

Double-elimination is cool by me. Those eliminated after the first two rounds can play pick-up games afterward if they want.
