dorian
well i've talked about him a lot already
i think i might have made too much out of nothing with my thing about him earlier on (it was mostly people not agreeing with me and something road said that made me start changing my mind)
otherwise i think his reads lists are ok for someone who isn't used to giving day 1 reads, they're still kind of surface level but yeah
he also made a post about cue that i liked
i would be like maybe ok with lynching him today, probably not my top choice anymore

I disagree that his boldness makes people hesitate to call him wolfy. I think plenty of people are dropping that null read on him.

With a player like yourself reading you and of those 3 ways is viable imo. I think you're getting all those reads here so blending in would be easy.
I don't think that you're the type of player that would be pocketed easily so I probably wouldn't bother with the first route of town read unless I wanted to try to play like the guy whose taking the high road against you in which cause I'd town read despite your pressure on me and your claiming mafia to seem like a boss.
Hope that answers your question. I still think that for the most part wolves rando town reading people is a thing that I'm on the lookout for. I haven't seen much of that yet except in MSU's case imo.
|
The thing about my play is that I treat all these options as truth. It's why you won't get a definitive read from me until Day 3. I'm pretty useless before that, though sometimes I get lucky. It really depends on how much people trust me and are willing to take a chance on voting for the lynch I think is most valuable. I don't have a most valuable lynch, yet. Though being the third vote on you has been fun.

well if it's coming from you i'd probably be less likely to take it at face value
also i tried looking at your forum but guests can't view it apparently which sucks

The large game I was modding just ended so I think I'm gonna head to bed.... Or read. We'll see. Hopefully the former, likely the latter.

Glad to hear that you're having fun and hopefully helping out with it. I'm kinda glad I'm not getting universally townread. i find confirmed town one of my weekest positions to play from which made day 1 of last game hard for me as well as day 2 but I managed to push the capps lynch and felt pretty good about it. I'd like to get your take on who you think would be the least valuable lynch today lets say top 2.

I'm here but studying so attention not focused on thread. If anyone wants my opinions go ahead and call
cue5c seems to have a mindset common at Neo wrt keeping cards close to the chest and it's a fine thing but it's not indicative of alignment.

fontisian
i didn't like some of her early push on slendy, specifically the part about slendy changing his read on smartbomb. i kind of liked that she went at him pretty hard but then backed off though. the doc vote was also meh. i liked her posts wrt to cue, specifically 313 and 535. there was also that sick x-post where we both asked banks what he liked about cue's post at the same time
so yeah town lean

Re: The 2015 Mafia Championship: Game 6
msu
i read his previous game and didn't really find anything too different outside of him being less active in this one. although i'm not that great at comparing iso's of different games if i wasn't part of those games, but yeah
i thought his vote on me was weird, like i didn't feel like it's difficult to believe that i was only voting msu for pressure? like given the types of posts that i've made in this game up until that point, when i end up voting msu with only the words "it's been 3-4 hours", voting for pressure seems like the obvious conclusion
he said at some point "why are you voting me for pressure, there's 20+ hours" left or something like that so it could be a culture thing but that's pretty weird

Re: The 2015 Mafia Championship: Game 6
ratchet
i think he's been playing the game in kind of like a relaxed way so far, like he's posting opinions and arguing with people but isn't really going hard at anyone, he's probably going to be a relatively hard person to get a read on in this game
haven't really had any big problems with anything he's posted though so there's that
the part where cue accused him of openly seerhunting itt and him completely not getting what cue was accusing him of was pretty interesting and maybe looks good for him? at least in the sense that it wasn't meant to be him seerhunting i guess

Re: The 2015 Mafia Championship: Game 6
road
i liked most of his posts in this game so far (with the exception of like his early dorian townread which i think he dropped later on, and his bhuber scumread)
i did just notice that he called dorian villagery for a good amount of the earlier part of the day and then forget to mention him in his reads list before he left, but that's probably not alignment indicative
i also think bhuber being at the top of his scumlist is kind of strange, i didn't really get any impression that he had a particularly strong lean on bhuber, but meh
still liked the rest of his reads, lean villager

Re: The 2015 Mafia Championship: Game 6
slendy
hasn't posted in forever, he's also the only person in this playerlist that i've played with before
i think i had some impression of like a difference in his town and mafia play but it was months ago so i don't really remember exactly what it was
of the posts he's made, i thought his first few posts were a bit awkward, his thing about "i'll tell you later after i've seen more posts from you" is not something i remember him doing from before but i'm not going to make a big deal out of it
i'd probably like to wait for him to return and catch up to the thread and expand on some of the things he's said because any read i make on him after that will probably be significantly better than anything i have now

Re: The 2015 Mafia Championship: Game 6
smartbomb
i liked his start of the game, it read as genuine to me, and i haven't seen anything since then to make me think that he was just mafia faking enthusiasm for only the start of the game
however i do think his reads/posts have been kind of consensus-y
unfortunately, around the time when he entered game 5 was also around the time when i stopped following that game closely, so i don't remember that much about how he posted, only that he posted pretty frequently, with pretty long posts and good enough to get cleared when his slot was previously in a pretty ****ty position
it's thin, but i kind of liked how he said he was going to stay until :00 this morning, and then ended up staying past it to give more reads
i haven't read through the links he posted yet, but if what he says is true then that's pretty great
overall, probably a weakish town lean

Does it affect my read on you? No, because it's clearly more about playstyle in your case, seeing as you provided examples of where you did it as town before. I don't agree though, and I am interested in your reasoning behind why things like jokes are alignment-indicative to you, but I still believe that you're town (about as strongly as I can Day 1).

But this is your standard play, isn't it, road? I may need to reread some of the games when you're all asleep. I think I can distinguish standard play from those last two posts though.
|
I feel like this doesn't really tell us anything here. You start off saying that you think he might be scum, but not actually showing why you think that, and then you say it is standard play. It's all quite vague, and I'm getting scum vibes from it.

To be fair, anything could be seen as implicating something. Virtually any post made could do so, and the concept seems pretty out there and, dare I say, redundant to me.

It is in this case though, unless people are going to go visit the site they are actually playing on normally and read over a sample (and I know for one that I don't have time for that).

Do you think that the lynch was particularly serious though? Or do you think it was to play the role he was playing, and using it to get a bit of pressure on Banks?
