Disregard the last thing I said if possible.

Is it Star Maker by Olaf Stapledon?

I will disregard the LAST question about Sherriff.

19. It is not Star Maker by Olaf Stapledon.

Its probably Odd John but should have narrowed down year once we had the authors imo

If you don't get it in 20, you can have one LAST guess after that.

Written by Olaf Stapledon?

If yes, then is it Odd John?

If no, then is it The Death Guard?

FIRST, I'll let you rethink your attack, since you should only be considering MEN whose LAST names start with "S". Then I will point out that "The Death Guard" was written by Chadwick.

With only 2 guesses, I think its fine to rule out R. C. Sherriff

Its more likely Odd John or Last and First Men so lets just guess those two :/

Yes, it is "LAST and FIRST MEN".

I'm currently listening to it. Stapledon comes off as a psychohistorian.

I think that Douglas Adams must have read this book, since parts of Hitchhiker's Guide sound so much like FaLM.

Nice! Was pretty sure it was Stapledon, but then I saw the wiki for The Death Guard and it seemed so damn interesting I lost my bearings!
