this was something that i would have considered late game, specifically when he would probably have met his wincondition, early game it felt kinda useless, like as a villager i didn't know if it would benefit to keep him around or get rid of him so i let the game play itself out, late game though about F7 if it was still alive would have been the time i would have tried to figure that out and prolly try to out him or get rid of him unless he agreed and proved he would use his power as pro villa... but at F7 he would've and did poof anyways

would have been a fun role to have, i didn't read the entire role flavor so i'm not too sure what impact he had on the game, but i will one of these days when i have a few hours to spare

Round 2 was. Round 1 was just another ITA round.

Basically, ITAs with multiple hit points are extremely pro-villa, because outed wolves can't take anyone with them, and basically only the wolfiest people get killed, which shrinks the POE pretty fast. Then the plethora of vigs means the POE gets shrunk even faster. Which means you need a way to get someone lock clear, and we didn't have one.

If not for flavor text, I actually considered dayvigging El_Timon at one point and hardclaiming it.

As I said in DVC, I didn't think the resurrection mechanic was bad, but I'd make two changes:

1) Give some sort of advance notice to the thread as to when Cylons will be killable - I think the most frustrating part was not knowing when we'd be able to kill Cylons, felt like that didn't really add to the puzzle aspect of what is fundamentally a puzzle game.

2) Give each team a method of killing Cylons, probably one apiece is plenty, a villa and a wolf each with a 1x Cylon virus or something (uncurable poison?).

I mean I'm certainly not going to deny the ITAs were pro villa, but the rez mechanic was pro wolf, and both teams had three vigs (one each that was "easy" to kill).

I was really worried the kill rate would be too low because of the rez mechanic so I added more vigs than I would now in retrospect, but I gave a team of 12 wolves 3 vigs and a 1x bomber. Firepower was not your issue.

I was leaving a winner day anyways, I wasn't worried.

I wondered why the entire game didn't just defy d1.

woulda been a good strat, but village woulda lost IMO, I needed to keep things close, dat damn hub...lol

I thought it was a very fun game, even though my 2x vote never really mattered at all.

I really like this idea.

I thought long and hard about doing something to put the rez mechanic somehow within the control of the game, but in the end I just couldn't figure out how to do it. And it seemed (to me) that giving the game the info of when the hub would come down would SIGNIFICANTLY advantage the wolves, who of course can plan much better, but maybe I overestimated that since on d2 they really didn't know that many Cylon PRs.

Gg village.

Thanks to the mods for the game!

And a huge to dwetz for the effort in the last few days. Staying alive for that long was the only thing that gave us a chance.

Howwwwwlll

VMF - thanks for the congrats.

Shame you were distracted by Reddboiler we could have teamed up old school spazzmonkey villager styling.

How would we ever know who's a cylon or not?

You played a good game....late in the game.

I think you need to post more and post more reads in future.

If it was not for the wolves all posting against you or the God mechanic I prolly shoot at you or try and get you lynched.

Just saying.

Clutch vote in the end game and no one can take that away from you.

Top game villa.

while it didn't come down to your power specifically, it was ridiculously important that you voted a wolf yesterday and today

for today:
if you voted the wolf, at WORST we had a 50/50 chance to win
if you voted non-wolf, at BEST we have a 50/50 chance

I thought more would have just been uncovered by the Cylon event, ITAs, and the n1 kills.

I mean, that was my thinking at the time. I'm not saying it was actually ACCURATE. I really wasn't sure how this would play out, I've never designed a game with this type of mechanics before. There are things I would certainly do differently this time. But I don't think (IMO) that the ITAs were overpowered for the village as a balance to the fact that the rez mechanic was overpowered for the wolves.

If that makes sense. Basically I KNEW the ITAs were more pro villa than normal, but I also knew the rez mechanic favored the wolf team much more than the village, so that seemed (to me) like a fair trade.

Hahaha

I really do not post volume to clear.

I like post my style so I can easily reread my own posts before I hit reply.

I just post whatever I think sometimes.
I find it hard not to post....actually.

Was there anything funny said about me in DVC?

Surely domer ripped a couple of good ones.
