I really don't know, but I do want to ensure that, to the extent possible within the structure of the game, everyone gets to have fun.

One thing we will do is try to use hard questions in late rounds. There absolutely will be a chance that the One will miss any given question, even in categories (s)he feel confident about, if we're writing the questions well, and we'll be doing our best.
I like your "milder version" quite a lot actually. Simply making questions really hard will definitely increase turnover, but everyone randomdotorging an answer may turn people off.

A. the Citroën 2CV, produced 1948–90
xander biscuits
B. the Ford Model T, produced 1908-1927
housenuts
Nicholasp27
Stork..
C. the Mini (variously badged Austin, Morris, and so forth), produced 1959–1990 (note: Not the modern redesign.)
425kid
aaronk56
Hero Value
D. the Volkswagen Beetle, produced 1938–2003 (note: Not the modern redesign)
ArcticKnight
D1iabol1cal
dc-ohio
derwipok
eyebooger
fnord_too
Gamer Dude
Jeremy517
King_of_NYC
KrazyKris
loosekanen
Montecore
pwnsall
rtspurs
soma84
TehVader
TheGunslinger
vruuuuk
Willi
And the answer is
Spoiler:
the Volkswagen beetle, answer D. Volkswagen sold more than 21 million of them. The other choices weren't sales slouches, either: there were 16 million model Ts, about five and a half million minis, and 3.8 million 2CVs.

True North got it right (while saying he was "tempted" to go with the Model T), so we're on to the next question as soon as we figure out what it is.

Blah, editing fail. Some of y'all note that I've just sent out a corrected PM. (Others got the correct question the first time, so no correction.)

Model T wasn't a bad answer; it held the record until something like 1970.

Also, note that many POG$ are available to anyone who finds me that car I mentioned above. (2005 [later is fine but unlikely] Boxster S though, yellow or green preferred, low miles, under 20K)

Note also that these POG$ are worth nothing outside the game, while in this game they are worth
Spoiler:
also nothing, besides my unending gratitude — which surely is a good thing.

Sorry you feel that way. I'm trying to achieve a nice balance but I guess people may not like what I've done so far.

God damn, it looks like superscripts don't translate well in copy/pasting here.

The thread version is correct. I will send a new version to everyone who got the bad one (which has some exponents missing). Anyone who got the bad one may resubmit if (s)he chooses.
