Limping range now popular?? Limping range now popular??

I have been playing on pokermaster last year where the hu games have antes. As a result I constructed a limping and limp rr range. However, I was surprised to see when I played on ACR that limping is today what minraise was in 2012. What is interesting is some of these guys are limping around 65% of their range essentially only raising hands that can stand vs a 3b. Then to compensate for small pot size they will overbet flop and turn.

While this seemed like a good strategy as it disables villians who rely heavily on 3b. I feel that it still allows players to see a flop for free and xf. So by employing this strat while we might be making it more difficult for villian to win dead money from fold to 3b it seems as the flop overbet is pointless if villian gets to see a flop for free and will only call the overbet with strong draws and pairs.

Im curious to hear what some of you think about this strat.

What is your limit on ACR - I do play there and I do not see anyone limping. I see guys who open 80%+ buttons and 3bet 20-40%
