BTN : Hero - 168.69 in chips.
BB: Villain - 219.04 in chips

Reads: Villain c-bets too large in single raised pots (close to 85% pot)consistently, and 3-bets pre far too often.

Hero has 69.

**Preflop**
Hero bets 3, BB raises to 11. Hero calls.

**Flop** [6 Q 2] Pot = 22

Villain bets 15.1, Hero calls.

*** TURN *** [6 Q 2] [8] Pot =52.20

Villain bets 29.75

Hero ???

I'll include my next action right at the bottom, But I would prefer to see what you think I should do here, before you judge my action.

Tough spot but I would call in position and see what he does on the turn. River card could also potentially slow down villain.

V has AA/KK/QQ/AQ (do you flat AQ?) for value. When he jams it is an easy call with 28% vs toprange. 70 into 270 if I am correct, you need 20% for a profit.

I think this is a very interesting spot, you have to consider how many rivers he is going to jam imo. 70% of rivers suck for us when he jams obv. We rarely have a big hand here, pretty much 66/88/86s maybe 22 want to do this for value. We do fold out all hands that have equity / air with which he will push us off by jamming the river. Calling is not great b/c of that imo. Rather call w KQ/QJ/QT maybe even some v strong hands.

So for 12 real valuecombos, we can use a little more bluffcombos if we use combos with equity, I think a hand like 96 (and 79/7T/JT/J9) with a fd fit perfectly as a bluff in a raisingstrategy.

Why not jam?

I absolutely agree about a majority of rivers cards sucking. Especially against this player that's barrelling far too frequently, any card that doesn't improve to two pair or better is a ***** to go to showdown on. Plus we block some straight draws making a river barrel as a bluff less likely from him.

I don't remember my reasoning for not jamming at the time, but thinking about it now, a smaller raise like this might make over pairs ( or just hands that beat me) slowdown and just call the turn, and then check the river, hoping I'll jam it then, allowing me to realise more equity for cheap. Whereas a jam is going to a be an easy call for most overpairs. Essentially its a blocker bet?

Vs a Jam he might fold stronger draws, thats pretty much the only reason I see for jamming. Can absolutely agree with you reasoning for just raising, I think it does not matter a lot longterm tbh.

Nice hand!
