Sometimes we look too deeply into things that happen online behind the veil of anonymity. I'm not supporting what Coragyps did, but I don't think it makes him a terrible person either. The impersonal nature of online play makes it such that people can be giant douchebags because they find it funny without any repercussions other than the disapproval of other faceless onlookers, but it shouldn't indicate what kind of person they are in terms of treating others with respect.

only a few things would qualify (in my mind) acting in that way, a lot of which would be difficult to accomplish over the internet.

Whatever the backstory is (perhaps prop bet who can be the biggest ass in december? Maybe some kind of douche-off?), I think at least half of any embarassment involved should really be from posting it here expecting people to be like "nice 1, internet high five!!!".

i disagree pretty strongly with this attitude.

most of us are professionals and this is our livelihood. there is not a lot of interaction with your peers aside from things that happen on the internet. im not saying "omg internet is serious business!" but more along the lines of just have some mutual respect to each other.

it's a lot easier to be courteous, or at least don't chat at all, rather than to go out of one's way to agitate or berate another player who is probably more similar to you than you think.

we all have bad days, and this can be a stressful game, but it doesn't give anyone the right to be a dick for no reason.

I just don't expect any bit of courtesy from anyone.

I played drunk a few nights ago, got goaded into 3 tabling by a regular that I pretty much detest. I won't say I played well, because I didn't in a few spots, but he certainly ran well... anyway, very shortly after he ran up quite a bit on me, he peaces out. It was 6am or whatever, but we started at 4. I wasn't mad. He's a douchebag and acted like a douchebag. No surprise. It was funny seeing the RL person behind the douchey persona start to turn around and validate his behavior and say he felt bad. I just laughed and grinded until like 11am, making back most of what I lost.

krantz was a ''bad guy'' a while ago (months) plus i was on monkey tilt. i was $43k down, which means my worst day at poker.

i didnt say "sorry krantz" because he did something stoopid too. i shouldnt do what i did, even against an idiot as krantz, but i was out of control, i couldnt do the right thing at that point. (and thats pretty obv since i gave action to krantz at 50-100).
