I don t know about him in particular, but I do know that sometimes after doing some drinking it is fun to donk around at low limits.

as if the games couldnt get much worse on full tilt, it appears they are not moving to seperate the PL and NL games to how they used to be, and i am shocked at the pathetic efforts of the HU community to not put more pressure on full tilt to do this. it has made a really bad situation significantly worse and they would have fixed it with more kicking and screaming.

you guys actually sound serious. you cant possibly be this dumb, i thought you were some comp science guy. you think people couldnt figure out simple statistics 200 years ago? my god have people totally lost any conception of simple math. with a pencil and paper you can figure out very easily what hands should beat what. pretty sure the greeks could have done this drunk.

hard to explain to someone like you urubu as you really don't get it..you seem like a nice guy, not trying to hate on you, but my god you arent even american and you choose full tilt as your main site...you do realize for heads up games, full tilt now sucks compared to party/ipoker combined..most of us here are americans and forced to play the sites we are allowed to..to someone that actually chooses full tilt, its hard to explain to them what it means to get the most games, and having the PL and NL separate would help that cause.

lol, thats almost impossible.
I could be wrong on the exact details for sure, but yeah I mean people a long time ago were pretty smart. I don't even know how electricity works and I live in the 2000s. Really, I have no clue.

I watched this half hour documentary a bunch of times when I was a kid too about these prehistoric caveman people who actually made themselves these primitive cars. They obviously didn't have engines, so they just didn't put floors in them and they propelled themselves with their feet. That is just sick ingenious!

not to derail this thread too much, but what Wut is saying is correct. I mean just because the knowledge of humans has increased greatly because it builds on each generation, the actual intelligence of people has not changed. most forms of basic math were as easy to a smart and studied greek mathematician as it is to a man today. the newer math evolutions have come with very complex stuff, not with such trivial math as calculating odds of something with obvious components.

some of the stuff they figured out a long time ago is very impressive do to the lack of tools, but this is relevant to science/astronomy, not to simple math.

get a history of math book, its actually a pretty easy read and interesting. i think the reliance on technology in society has made the vast majority of educated people much worse off as they have lost the part of the brain that actually can figure stuff out without being so dependent. calculators, graphing capabilities, computers, imo, have been a huge negative on educating kids in math despite schools' rush to use them for the 'future' of education.

yoyo
so Im semi new to HUNL just wanted a few pointers for whats cool n whats not...
so far I have read a few in this thread and around 2p2

*don't open many tables at the same limit
* hit n run is standard but maybe the definition has changed? (if u stack the guy give him 15mins plus b4 leaving...cool?)
*bum hunting/table selecting (this needs to be explained to me)
*grim (I always leave on the guys BB am i goin to poker hell?)

give me as many as you can plz

I embrace all warm welcomes

open 4 tables at the same limit max
hitnrunning isn't standard.... some people keep playing even after they stack someone
bumhunting = good table selection, not playing regs, refusing action etc
grim means right when you join a table you 3bet leave or someone sits you and you raise your btn they fold and you sitout. Or you ask someone to flip they agree and you fold.

ppl need to wise up...u are not grimming if u 3 bet oop and leave...grimming is only abusing position and quitting...the rest of u are just cry babies as i will take some moron 3 betting me oop knowing his wide range any day.

Hey guys, I'm selling off a bunch of my WSOP action from June 2nd thru June 20th.

These are the tournaments I'll be playing (will skip events if I make the second day of prior one obv):

6/2 $1500nlhe
6/3 $1500nlhe 6max
6/4 $2000nlhe
6/5 $2500nlhe
6/8 $2500nlhe 6max
6/10 $1,500nlhe shootout
6/11 $1,500nlhe
6/13 $10,000nlhe Heads up
6/15 $2,000nlhe
6/16 $1,500nlhe
6/18 $2,000nlhe
6/20 $1,500nlhe

That is $30,000 worth of buy-ins. Not sure exactly how much I'm keeping for myself. I'm selling at 1.2:1. So 1% would cost $360

If I skip one or two of the tourneys I will play tourneys at Venetian or Caesars. I won't be playing any other tournaments so this 30k represents my entire live tournament action from June 2nd thru June 20th.

Again it's $360 for 1%.

PM me if you have any questions and I'll give you my aim if you want to discuss this further. Thx everyone.

Okay here's the deal, 5% would cost 625 dollars yes. However, if I won the ME i'd have to pay US taxes, but you would get 5% of my TOTAL after taxes.

If I win 20k, you will get 1000 back because I don't think they tax that low, but point is it would be 5% of total winnings and not profits.

krmont22 on FTP is who you should send it too, as he is dealing with all the finances.

I think we decided to sell 60% and I'm at 56%.

uhh, if u take taxes from ppl buying stake in you, you are ripping them off so badly...if you sell pieces, and give away winnings, then u dont owe taxes on those winnings...you will pay them, and have to file for a refund because that money 'was never yours' as they owned it from the start. don't buy a piece of cftw until he takes this clause out of the agreement or you are getting a rawwwwwwwwwwwww deal.

hmm i've never done this before, and I'm definitely not trying to scam anybody here. I just figured if I somehow won 1 million+, I'd be broke paying off pieces pre-taxes as opposed to post-taxes since I'd own ~400k in taxes along with 600k+ in pieces, leaving me with...nothing. How is this usually handled?

I think the person who stakes you would pay the taxes (assuming they have to pay taxes on gambling winnings)

search the legislation forum
