Or like sometimes my perception of how often someone donks flops is way way off the actual number. These sort of less standard things come up more in HU than 6max I feel.

So for HU I use the HUD more for kind of slightly more esoteric stuff like that, on a case by case basis, whereas at 6max I am mostly using a HUD just cause I have more tables going and I need the basic info more like PFR and VPIP and crap.
Yeah thats a good point about the HUD keeping you in check - but I do feel overall game flop and momentum are probably the most important flowing factors in HU.

Also can anyone answer my question: name the top 3 sites to play HU cash on? Thanks, GLP.

I've spent the last 3 days playing 6max, moved down to nl100 to learn after losing a couple of buyins in 5 minutes higher up lol.

Playing HU since jan has def improved my game, but I'm far from crushing. If anyone else is in my situation and is thinking of learning 6 max to compliment their hu game reply here or pm me? We can learn and discuss together.

if I knew hu would stay as it is right now and not get any worse then I would very happily continue playing hu for the next few years, but i live in constant fear of the games drying up and we all know it's happening, and faster than 6 max it seems. checked out nl100 hu earlier and actually laughed out loud when i saw how many empty seats there were loool

When poker was first invented, how did people decide which hands beat which? did they just get on their medieval poker stove and run simulations on how often you paired or hit a flush a million times?

I wonder this too, because it seems to work out like it should and poker has been around for centuries.

People have been doing pretty hardcore math for centuries I think. I mean they didn't do it on computers but if they could figure out how far the moon is from earth a few hundred years ago (I think I read this somewhere) or Einstein figured out his relativity stuff 100 years ago (it's pretty crazy!), someone could probably figure out that straights come up more than flushes.

It could be like trial and error too, maybe some guys were like like "lol so rigged, I never make a flush with these rocks I painted some faces on, let's make them beat flushes k?".

in the early 1600s people studied the positions of stars and planets with impressive accuracy. They also didn't have telescopes. (obviously this is not # of km's away)
