While you guys are all focused here... what do you think about this hand?
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/19...telime-341687/

I don't know whitelime's HU game at all... but in a general case against a good thinking player, I like CRAI on the turn.... but enough good players are saying it's awful. I'm still unsure as to whether or not they're saying it's generally awful, or awful against whitelime.

i think this is the naivety that rubs people the wrong way. how well you play/were coached will have very little to do with preventing your big downswings. poker can just really, really suck sometimes regardless of who you are.

No, I understand that a downswing is going to happen. I dread it every single day. I'm saying krmont will keep my ego down.

nit BR ever??

i think this is super standard to play 5/10 hu. less than 75bi is suicide, and i just play confortable w/ more than 100bi.

sometimes i take shots w/ 50bi, but i think i am waaaaay underolled for games which i have just 50bi. and obv i dont play confortable.

I think it's night and day depending on what kind of investments/money in the bank you have.

I was playing 5/10 on around 40-50 BIs a few months ago, but am back up over 100 BIs.

lj, urubu, others:

what do you consider your "bankroll". Online monies? Bank account monies? Any money that isn't currently tied up?

I personally only consider online money my bankroll and i generally keep 60+ buyins for my regular game. I am fine with moving down if need be and if games look good at 25/50 i certainly don't mind taking a couple buyin shot.

As long as you're fine moving down to grind the money back, i dont see any reason you NEED 100 buyins...

honestly wtf do you do at the ass end of a 40 buy in downer. Doesnt it feel hopeless that it will likely take you a month or somthing to grind it all "back". I think this is what keeps me from going to stricly HU, and hourly rate of course =)

Strictly online monies.

I don't really need 100 BIs online, but I hate the thought of busting an online roll given the state of depositing. Also, it's just coincedental that I have so much on, because I'm trying to play higher. If was content playing 5/10 and not higher, I would probably just use 50 BIs. Also, also, also... it's spread across sites. I'm such a nit that I psychologically differentiate between my BRs on each site =\.

I'd play the same as EC did there. I think that kinda turning my hand into a bluff is irrelavent, all things considered in the hand.

my poker bankroll is ONLINE monies only. After my huge 40K downer in June, I withdrew a bunch and now play with 50+ buyins for each site and move down when i fall below 50 buyins. i'm a nit now sigh....

I, too was curious what urubu, pasterbator, LJ, snipes and cftw, kept online as their br for the 10/20+ stakes they play. I mean 100K on one site for 10/20? 250K for 25/50?

No doubt. EC10 is a nit I guess, so it appears I was missing out on some critical information about each player.

If it were me, I love CRAI turn =D... but I pay a lot of money for that image lol.

you get really confused and question how you ever beat the game bc nothing seems to work. you stop 2barrelling bc they always have 2pair and try different lines because you never make hands and then you FPS yourself into giving more stacks away.

Then you take 2 weeks off and buy something really nice like a 30in monitor, 60in tv, new mouse, keyboard, phone, take the gf away for the weekend and realize that you MUST have been good at one point to have made all that money in the first place.

And then everything goes back to normal and you get rich again. I believe jsnipes is experiencing the run-good part of that now.

i basically never keep more than 100k online. Theres no reason to. I don't play/don't really have motivation to play 25/50 as a regular game and I'd rather have it sitting in ING than wasting away in my ftp account.

Also, for what LJ said about separate sites being separate "bankrolls". lol i sorta do the same thing. I always keep more on ftp than stars bc theres no 10/20 hu on stars so i never need the money there.

Also, i run sick hot on stars, so im always cashing out.

I should really get money on Stars... especially since I've been playing just about anyone lately.

the 2/4 regs on stars are way worse than 2/4 regs on FT

online money only when thinking of bankroll. I tend to do weird stuff like use 10 to 15 BI's (while having 60+ online) as my "working capital", and if i get stuck that much, I then re-eval my play and decide if i want to move down or go again etc. I'll do the same thing when taking shots, having neteller working is a big help, because I can take a shot and cash out everything in that account apart from my 10BI "shot money". Which means i am never going off for a big number etc.

For the most part Im a big bankroll nit, after pretty much busting myself 18mths ago (poker not life).
