aside from price, isnt FWF supposed to be a good enough coach to change his coaching depending on what whateverson needs ?

coaching is entirely different from playing

My expertise is coaching the intermediate player. I would do horribly at trying to coach anyone who is new to the game or someone w/bad fundamentals.

Whateverson looks like the latter and it takes a special skill to fix that, especially in a game that is dynamic as heads up, it becomes even more difficult.

i think the idea is that a lot of what makes FWF worth 650/hr is not gonna be used, despite FWF's ability to adjust his coaching to whatever his student needs to learn. his 'adjustment' will likely just be to dumb the sessions down to things that many other coaches are capable of teaching

Imo if he plays small stakes it is pretty safe to assume he doesn't know what could benefit a 200nl/400nl player and is ill-equipped to judge the posts of someone who could provide valuable advice to these people. And that's not even considering the fact that a lot of coaches are going to hold back a lot when they post start on a public forum...

Of course, he still might be right, but that would just be a coincidence.

alright so im gonna go with dave/nlsoldier as a coach. i like the way he crushes 600nl up to 5k nl and its pretty much my goal to be able to beat those stakes like him. plus hes affordable it will only take about 15% of my br

it will be 10hours. hope it wil be worth it, has anyone ever been coached by him?

fwiw i def think getting a more expensive coach is worth it considering you have talent/ambition to move up. the faster you learn to think correctly the better no matter whether you're playing nl100 or nl10k

make sure you prep everything rly well and get max value. i still regret relatively wasting 4 hours of dih coaching by just doing a live sweat 1.5 years ago
