0.25/0.50 shortstack 5-ring is this a proper flop shove? 0.25/0.50 shortstack 5-ring is this a proper flop shove?

Look down at 89s diamonds on the button. I have ~$20-25 left behind me.

HJ is first to open makes it $3. He has triple my stack.
CO folds, I call. SB and BB fold.

Flop comes 8c 10d Qx

Pot is now $6.75
HJ leads out for $5. I put him on an overpair or top pair, he made his preflop sizing very big and he was the first one to come in. He bets depending on the strength of his hand pre, and I count my outs here accordingly.

3 8’s left in the deck, 3 9’s left in the deck, 4 J’s. I have roughly 10 outs, which when multiplied by 4 for shoving the flops gives me ~40% equity. I figured I also had some fold equity too, as the board is wet, and I hold some blockers too.

I shove, villain flips over KK. Turn and rivers duds.

Was this a proper shove, or a fishy shove?

It's fishy because you spr is so low. Make sure you play with at least 100bb at all times and if you cant afford to reload move down in stakes.

With the 50bb you want to find spots with Decent fold equity where you can 3b gii... this isn't one of them.

As played you can float one street but it's still a ****ty situation due to reversed implied odds. Gii here is bad because this flop hits him to. He's not going to fold hardly ever and you're behind when called.
