Hey you guys,
This is going to sound a bit complainy, so you know.
I think when you sit on every empty table heads up, I think it's bad for the game. Being greedy hoarding all the tables. What ends up happening is that recreational players who are wanting to play heads up might not want to play you. Yes you get more action than the players who can't contest you for the table, but I believe in cooperation and doing what's best for everybody - because I think a good attitude is what will help bring online poker back. And it's destined to come back, when it becomes legal again in every state, which is not many years down the road.
There is an unuseful personality trait in online poker of being rude, competitive (the strongest survive mentality, and being arrogant about it), and a trolling others on how to play the game.
We could not have survived as a species without COOPERATION as well as competition.
And so sharing tables isn't as cool. And everyone is a dick about it because they don't get off. It puts you at war with your peers, and I don't think it wins you more action from recs. I think if a rec player had 4 players to choose from, rather than sitting down and playing a nl heads up specialist (and frankly, how does he not know that is not a bot?) - why the **** should he play heads up and lose his money? He just won't play.
As I was typing this, I had a rec sit down with me and start shoving 100bb's every hand. I think it's not a coincidence that he sat with someone who is on one headsup table (for that limit/game type).
I want to wait and sit on heads up tables for fun players, too. If 4 tables are open, I will sit on one. This keeps me "on the low" in regards to my knowledge about the game. Another thing I do, if I double up, I switch tables instead of sitting on a double buy in (low key) and drawing attention to myself. I guarantee you I will get more action per table (APT) than if I was on 4 (maybe more in general if I sit on 4, but I bet not by much!).
So in summary, maybe you (not YOU, but "you" in general) gets you more recognition and weaker regs looking up to you, but it's bad for EVERYBODY. It's bad recs because they don't get to play HU, it's bad for the poker room bc they don't get the rake so I don't know why they allow it, and it's bad for you because fewer people will play you.
If you are playing HU for the thrill of competition, then multi tabling is fine, I think if you are actually doing it. But I think they should still have a limit so other players can play. Unfortunately, the tables are to a limited amount.
Peace.
