guys if i am heads up a against an huge fish. like with a vpip of 95% calls almost every 3bb bet from BB how often should i open raise here on SB? He is a bad player and i know im much better. Iv'e heard that i should almost always open raise on the button but i don't know if it's profitible against a player that almost always calls me.

please pm me.

open 100% and try opening for more like 4x or 5x

I was playing a tricky player sit 50x, he's opening about 60% and limping 15-20%

he's quite aggro and bluffy but not crazy, I didn't 3bet so much and his % calling range isn't relevant

he opens 3x, I have 22. What should I do 50bb deep?

Meh calling is ok, but he's going to take so many pots off us when we have the best hand, I think the EV of shoving will be better. Calling will be fine too, especially if you're a good hand reader.

^^ please don't post if you can't give meaningful advices. equity wise, 22 vs ATC is a flip pre. so when ur called ur either a 20/80 dog or flipping. risking 25 to win 1.5 is just freaking ******ed.

Meh. The cash player most likely has no experience playing <100bbs (well, not much), calling 3bbs preflop then c/f'ing tons of flops sucks at 50bbs, we don't get villains stack every time we hit a set, and playing small pairs OOP generally sucks, when shortstacked at least.

It's not the point that we're behind or flipping, it's the fact it's a +EV move, and IMO the optimal one unless you're great postflop, and the villain described was aggro, so will take a ton of pots off us with his cbets/double barrels when we've got the best hand, and shoving pre takes his positional advantage off him.

hes opening 60%, what % of hands does he call with? 10ish%? (55+ AT+ KQ+)

we win 4bb when we take it down 5/6th of the time.

we have 37% equity when called 1/6th of the time.

(4bb*5/6) - (13bb*1/6) = ~1bb

and it still actually looks shoving is +EV at villain calling with 15%

lemme know if I did something wrong

hey. I'm a winning 6-max player @50NL, looking to get into HU play but don't particularly want to pay the rake + suffer the variance while I'm learning. What I'm looking for is a few thinking opponents to play some practise matches on play money tables. We can put a few bucks on it to keep it interesting and just xfer afterwards. Anywhere from 2-4 tables for 30mins+, then we can get on skype and discuss the match.

If anyone's interested shoot me a PM, won't turn anyone down.

i haven't read this entire thread yet but what i have read has me a bit discouraged. i keep reading post where ppl say not to even try and play below 50nl or 100nl due to the rake. i don't have the roll for either of those so i've been playing 25nl at lock poker, is this a waste of my time? there is never anyone playing the HUsngs on lock so i can't use those to build my br. if playing 25nl is a waste of time due to rake, what should i do? just give up trying to learn HU?

im not too sure who to recommend really, but i would imagine if u look thru that coaching forum u could find some good ppl in your price range (esp from americans that arent playing much because of BF). and look at the reviews in there from past clients.

u shoud take jakester ^ up on his offer.

don't know if its a noob question or not, so i'm posting here

1st hand at a 50nl table, an "unknown" sits with a $35 stack, we know he isn't a regular at the games and he doesn't have anything in his sn or location that might help us with reads

1st hand we raise to $1.50 and villain snap shoves

what range should we call with?

how would this change if he had a $50 stack?

if he was italian?

if he didn't snap shove?

thanks

^I would call 70x with AQo+/AJs+/88+, regardless his nationality or timing, probably AQs/99+ 100x
