How do you determine if you can beat the rake? What sample size should be considered along with bb/100?

I'm watching "real life ms grinder" from DeucesCracked and think it's really good. Lots of talk into the reasoning behind actions.

I've been trying to break into 50NL. Recently, I've been struggling with 3 bet pots. A typical scenario would be; the opponent is a slightly losing player and calls about 50% of 3 bets. I 3 bet with AJ, and the flop comes 834. He has a low fold to c bet percentage. I lead out say $6.50/$7 into a $10 pot and get called. Turn blanks, and I have no idea what to do? I have found myself polarising my 3bet range to combat such situations.

On the one hand we could check flop, but that seems weak in itself. On the other, I haven't had much success double barrelling such flops. I know a huge amount of it comes down to variations of opponent and board texture. But the above situation seems to be one that I'm finding myself lost in recently.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Alternatively you can PM me to discuss!

Depends what hands he will call the flop w/, how he reacts to 2/3-barrels, and what the turn card is.

it just depends on lots of things. but what do u mean as a blank?

perhaps construct a full hand with reads in a situation that u find tough and then post it here.

the more specific u are the better. your question is a good one, just a big one to tackle because it depends!

nobody knows if hu25 is beatable? exist hu25 on ipoker?

im sure its beatable. u might have to table select, and it prolly depends on the rake and site, but i dont see why its not beatable. theres. .10/.20 on ipoker from what i can see

Why are you c-betting 70% of the pot?

Should small pairs (22-66) be in a 3 bet defending range 100BB deep against an unknown?

If we see that villain is defending small pairs to 3 bets, what adjustments should we make? (I assume we should fire two barrels more often as most cards will be overcards to his pair. Is this wrong thinking?)

Bankroll Management Question:

I've read through this entire thread trying to find a decent answer, the only one I could find was someone said they go by a 20/17 rule. They'll play a certain level with 20 buy-ins and if they drop to 17 buy-ins or less they will drop down a level until they have 20 buy-ins again.

I'm a HUSNG player and follow a similarly move-up strategy, however not as aggressive(25/20 as opposed to 20/17). I know the normal range of buy-ins for HUSNGS is 30+ at any level past the $20s.

My question is how many buy-ins should I have for 100nl HU? I think starting with 20 would be a little aggressive as I really don't want to grind 50NL(rake, etc). Any constructive feedback would be nice. Thank you

What's it called when you sit down at a HU table, you raise, your opponent 3bets, you fold and they leave the table/sit out?

Is it against PS's T&Cs?

20 ought to be fine, if you're going to game select. If you wanna battle regs alot however, I'd suggest more like 40BI

Thank you for the response

As far as game selection goes for hu cash, say there's a lobby with about twenty 100nl HU tables sitting 1/2. would i just PTR everybody until i find someone i feel i have a decent edge on? or would you suggest sitting and waiting for someone to sit you? Thank you once again
