With a hand like 88 out of position, can you guys tell me if your standard is to 3bet or flat, and what option you'd pick based on the type of villain you are playing? Thanks.

Yeah as a standard I'm flatting. Gonna be 3 betting 88 when there is a 4 bet dynamic going on so I can 5 bet shove

Ppl slowly but surely get better and more aggro, even the fish. Also way fewer fish as you move up, although they're still around.

Thanks alot really helped me.
What does the red colour in the upper right corner represent? 3bet/fold?

This graph was taken from pokerstove. The yellow are the hands we are playing or those that were selected in the program. The red and blue colors just indicate off suit and suited - no importance here.

I'd like advice from any regs. I am a reg hu cash player and have success. However I feel I am lacking full potential and still have a lot to learn. I was wondering what training sites people have found to be the best for hi cash. I'm not looking for the basics in beginners video but videos that have some more advanced thinking.

Do any of you regs have Any reccomendations?

How big of mistake am I making if I always call with small pp's (22-77) when Im getting 3 betted and getting 10 to 1 or better (10 to 1 because we don't always win when floping a set)?

I don't take villians tendencies in to consideration. Should I fold against certian players?
****General Questions THREAD**** Quote

Probably. But more importat is that you shouldn't call to catch a set only.

Vids are good but what really drastically changed my game was working on mindset. Having a coach or a good friend who also plays can be very helpful. Discussing hands, thinking about poker away from the table, and deeply analyzing your play on every single decision is key. Think about everything you do and why you did it, consider alternatives, and evaluate best options. Also review your sessions afterwards, regardless of if it was good or bad, and see what you could have done better. Always strive to play your A game.

New to the HUnl section on 2p2. Going to x-post this intro in beginners thread & regs thread. Hoping to be very active in this section in upcoming months (remember my sexy avatar )

Previously just a NVG, BBV, PGC, railtard. Started NL50 hu on ftp a couple of months ago, after grinding STTs and uNL to start with a $1.5k roll! Decent results so far, now playing 100nl HU, with $7.5k bankroll, looking to move through levels quickly. I'm a total action junkie, so I always play regs, and always over 2, 3 or 4 tables, otherwise it's just too boring, so any regs at NL50-100 want a match, shoot me a pm!

my sn: J_nufc_V (obv ptr way out), and yes big Newcastle fan!

Here is my graph for my HU journey so far:

I've play pretty aggro, 64.6/55/19%3b, and I bluff quite alot. I've watched alot of vids on cardrunners, but getting a little bored of their material, and am wondering about purchasing DC or Leggo memberships. Any guidance as to which site is best for HUNL would be much appreciated?...

Look forward to becoming an active member of this community, and hopefully learning alot, so I can move up through the levels of the truest form of poker IMO, NLHU!!!

Post saver... (my no1 babe atm - Rosie Jones!)

glgl to all, and peace

Would be very appreciative if any of the folks who play poker for a living could give some guidance as to the reasonableness of the goal of making $150,000/yr playing pretty much exclusively HUNL 50/100/200. I've chatted with some 500/1000 winners who intimate they pull down substantially more than that, but I am a long ways from beating 50/100, let alone higher. Before I quit my job, ignore my family and live on diet coke and poker videos for a while, thought I'd get a reality check. Thanks.

how tightly should I adjust my opening raise from the SB when it seems like my opponent is 3 betting every other time?

It also seems like those opponent type are also flatting all my four bets.

If I end up calling with stuff like A8o/K7s/J8s/Q3s and I see a dry flop but I miss the flop and he cbets 2/3rd pots.

how should I respond? Should I worry about check-folding misses in these types of situations?

My question is that on the Leaderboards (FTP) it's detailed as follows:

Rank Name Location 258.0 3 x fav buyin

...what does the 258.0 (listed under Chips) mean, and also the 3 x fav buyin?

My bad if it's already been posted

I have a 25NL FR background [2.5BB winner over like 500k+ hands] starting tables a fair bit recently doing alright, but a lot of ppl won't play me [bumhunters gonna bumhunt?] Doing alright there.

What is peoples opinions on the most important learning pathway to focus on while i am transitioning to 2 tabling 50NL HU from being a 9-24 tabling 25NL FR reg?

My plan is to a bit of everything, but what do people think its the most important aspect besides volume?

Coaching? HH review with rando grinders? Videos? Reading threads on 2+2 obsessively?

Hello! started nl50 3 weeks ago and it seems like I have been just crushed by the rake ( i'm down 650 on 20k hands and well.. paid 650 from rake at this limit )

my stats are around 35/35/60, I dont play too much OFP, I 3bet around 15% of the time.. seems pretty standard to me..

an exemple of what brings me here, lost 4 BI today, 2 on beats, 2 on coolers ( top set vs floped straight, all in on flop ) Lost 2 yesterday, on big draws missed ( flushy draw + pairs..etc )

Can anyone tell me a bit about the variance in nl50HU? Rake made me -650 instead of even.. and I could lose 6 BI in 2 days??
