Of course, in 2–3 years, the average 1knl reg will be > current WCG/Kanu, so purchase a time-freezing chamber if possible, MrIncognito.

I've been messing about with hu zoom on stars (NL100) and I have a few quick questions:

1. Is the rake the same as at regular hunl100? (sorry for being lazy)

2. In theory, your winrate at it should be your average winrate vs the field of players, right? Or is there anything I'm not considering?

3. Is it the future of hunl or not (if not, then why?). It's so convenient and easy to play. Why shouldn't stars go zoom only for hu?

4. Games seem a lot more passive than when I played hunl100 a couple of years back. What changed? E.g. the frequency of cbets seems a lot lower and there's more checking down.

Hello guys!

I'm new here, and I want to try myself at the NLHE HU tables. I have some questions.

Rake question:
I've seen TooCuriousso1's rake post, and I found the PTR rake analysis, but I didn't find datas about OnGame. Has somebody experience about this?

Limit and BRM question:
I'll start on micro limit maybe on NL5 or NL10. Maybe these limits are not super tough, but I do not want to lose a decent part of my roll because the variance. Maybe between 40 and 80 would be ideal, but I have no clue to find a starting point. So every advice is welcomed.

Learning question
Can you advise me a good and up to date book, or video series/package, or any study material? I've crossed the threads and found some older and newer stuff. So where should I start?

Game question
If I sit on SB and fold, the EV is 0 or -0,5? For example: I'm the SB and hold 74o and raise with it. I know, if I called by my opponent my EV will be ~0,32bb/100. If the fold EV is zero, my raise is not good, because the fold is better. If the fold EV is -0,5, the raise is better than fold. Which one should I use as a starting point?

Thanks in advance!

-I don't think NL5 or NL10 is beatable due to rake. Maybe consider husng's instead until you are rolled for NL50.

-EV of folding is always 0 (it costs nothing and you win nothing).

technically i guess so, but you should treat it like your winrate with that hand otb will be -50bb/100 if you fold, if you're trying to compare.

Just maintain consistent reference points.

Fine:

1)

--folding has an EV of -50 bb/100 for the overall hand
-- raising has an EV of -32 bb/100 for the overall hand

(The money we've already contributed to the pot isn't treated as a sunk cost.)

2)

-- folding has an EV of 0 bb/100 relative to a null decision
-- raising has an EV of 18 bb/100 relative to a null decision

(The money we've already contributed to the pot is treated as a sunk cost.)

Not fine:

3)

-- folding has an EV of 0 bb/100 relative to a null decision
-- raising has an EV of -32 bb/100 for the overall hand

(Unnecessarily confusing.)

The convention is to use #1 preflop, as TC says, and #2 postflop.

What is the lowest stake on stars that can be beat at HU? Many told me that 50NL can't be beat do to the rake! Is 100NL good for a decent HU player?

50nl is crushable if you are better than who you are playing.Definitely a plan to try to move up as fast as possible though as it does eat the winrate.

Edges are gonna be smaller, but there is still money to be made.

Personally I'm transitioning to reg speed and deepstack HUSNGs, because the rake is something ridiculous and silly until you get to like 200NL at least (and even there it's comparable to 6max rake at lower stakes).

Basically, you can beat NL50 and NL100, but only if you have a substantial edge on your competition or you can make the game get VERY deep. You'll basically have to bumhunt to make money at those levels, and bumhunting is annoying and kind of douchey.

Don't play cap dude. The edge is barely enough to beat rake in uncapped games, it's never ever going to be enough in capped ones, unless you're playing like 2/4.

i just started playing heads up cap as a regular, so far in 3 weeks i have around 300 in profit. This game seems like it has alot of potential for good but also some pretty heavy swings. if anyone has some strategy or tips for me that would be awesome. i would also like to hear from players that played this game for a long period of time to have a grasp on results.

thanks alot

NL50 should be 20-25bb/100 rake being taken off the table. Still its very much possible to fleece bums for plenty. When you start talking about zoom, it can get hairy at times. It's probably stupid to play when the decent reg entry/fish entry ratio is greater than 1:1 I guess. But you'll have to play a lot to know when that is because a lot of the regs are horrible.

But that dynamic can make the NL50 zoom game very tough and possibly unbeatable at certain times though it doesn't occur too often.

That said a credible reg, one of the really good ones, told me he was at 15bb/100 for zoom over a large sample size, which is quite a bit higher than my own wr, he might "table select" though, I don't know, didn't ask. Could be 5bb of variance even over 150-200k still too.

But bottom line is NL50 is crushable unless you regwar vs the few good players crazy enough to play without an edge or you play zoom around the clock without regard to game conditions.

Hi there I have personally found that why edges are small there is a lot of simple spots to pick up small pots on flop and turn. You know pretty quickly if someone just wants to get it in by 3bet shoving and you can adjust to that. I had 3 people in a row come into my table today all with 10-15$ you could tell it was the last if there money with the odd amounts and they just want to gamble. Pick your spots, adjust accordingly when that gambler comes to the table.

Yeah I noticed that too and I always look for if they have auto rebuy on, it seems like 90% of the time if the player has auto rebuy, they are a regular. I really really like playing those gamblers buying in with there last 10 to 20$. For those guys all I do is wait for a premium hand and shove and they usually talk there selves into shoving haha , the bad thing is , is that when I do that I sometimes get hit and ran for 2 to 10$ and I don't know how to avoid that, have you been playing heads up long?

i dont really understand why no1 wants to post in this thread?

i mean have the good and discussion generating topics have a thread made, have the topics that have already been answered or talked about a ton, or can be answer in one reply, be posted in here. makes sense to me?

Since I don't really want to open a new thread my question is whether I should 3b or just flat my baby aces (A2s-A5s)?

Lot of villains defend Kxs and a lot of suited connectors and suited broadways so it'll be a lot of fun if we flop some flushdraws etc

On the other side we're valuetowning ourselves on Axx boards against his better aces.

I am thinking about just calling with hearts and diamonds and 3b spades and clubs or something like that

What do you guys think?
****General Questions THREAD**** Quote

flat basically always against basically every1.

Alright thanks. Maybe you have a small explanation too?

They're too valuable to turn into a bluff, but not valuable enough to 3bet for value.

Question: Ive been playing abit of hu zoom @ 50nl the last few days & im wondering why is it that the status quo think's its best to open 90-100% of btns?. To not lose $ on the sb dont you only need to open atleast 50% of btns?, when i open 100% vs the avg reg i feel like im not getting atleast 50% folds & not able at all to defend vs 3bets without being exploited(in zoom it takes a while to get reads).

So if in general in zoom players will defend enough to make opening 100% of btns unprofitable then why is this what most regs will suggest to do it?.
