Do most of you guys just join a couple HU tables and wait for people to sit you then play them? Right now that's what I do and I play whoever sits instead of finding someone to play and joining their table. I find that the players I end up playing this way are about 70% random/weak/terrible and 30% regs which is a nice mix. Just wondering what you guys normally do, thanks.

I started a thread asking about Doyle's Room, I kind of wanted to discuss DR specifically and not derail this thread too much.

haha. I don't really mean to bumhunt It is nice though it saves the time of me sitting people and them sitting out a lot of the time, and the mix of players that join seems nice (euphemism!). Just join and wait for someone. I rarely sit people out though, I just leave if I am getting pummeled or something heh. Is ptr allowed for stars? For some reason I thought I heard it isn't but this may be flat out wrong. Pretty overrolled for the stakes though so I don't care too much if I play a good reg it is nice practice (unless I get pummeled then it kinda sucks heh)

Being that its his first 4 bet is worrysome but it an All in Shove. Flatting is pretty terrible with a hand like 99 and 5b to a non all in size is kinda pointless and folding is bad too so yeah standard jam

I am still new to HU, and have not posted in this area yet, so first off hello HU people!

And now for some noob questions. From what I have learned so far, when we are in BB we should defend at least 38% because if we defend less then opponent will be able to make a profit with any two cards. But I think that the need to defend at least 38% is valid only when opponent actually IS opening near 100%, and as long as he is not doing this, then we can, and possibly even should, defend much less. Is that correct?

Next, lets change it up to when we are in SB. If opponent is defending less than 38%, we start opening any two cards. If he starts defending more than 38%, we start opening less... is that correct? But then, is there some point at which he continues to defend more and more that we, instead of opening less and less, reverse the trend and start opening more? The reason why I ask this is because I do think that we steal less as he defends more, but I recently came across something that seemed to imply the opposite, that we steal more as he defends more, and the only way that that could be true is if there is some type of inflection point where he defends so much that the trend starts to go the other way. Maybe it has something to do with him defending way too wide, and then check-folding to like 60% of flops (I think 60% check-folding makes opening any two cards profitable)?

Hey so I have been playing some HU but I'm not that good... I seem to spew a lot and I don't know whats going on... Anyways I was wondering if there were any good articles I could read about HU...
What do you think is the best way to improve your HU game?

Basically just any kind of general knowledge to really learn about HU would be great.

Thanks

What hands should I use to 3bet bluff?

When constructing a polarized 3betting range, I could build the air portion using a subset of hands from this 11.5% range: K7s-K4s,Q8s-Q5s,J8s-J6s,T7s-T6s,97s-96s,86s-85s,75s+,65s,A7o-A2o

But what hands in that 11.5% are actually good to bluff with? Should I avoid the offsuit aces?

If I want 6.0% worth of bluff hands, should I use this: K7s-K4s,Q8s-Q5s,J8s-J6s,T7s-T6s,97s-96s,86s-85s,75s+,65s

Or should I use this: K7s,Q8s,A7o-A2o

The offsuit Ax hands give me a blocker, but I have read and heard that they are not good to use for 3betting.

This is very common in HU players (recreational ones esp). You have to separate each decision. Focus only on the current hand. Focus on playing the current hand as best as possible, for the most EV. When your mind drifts from this basic goal it's time to quit

Hi guys. I am an American and would like to know what sites are available besides Stars/ FT/Bodog that have easy deposit and withdrawal methods (i.e. echeck/bankwire/check) and have decent HU traffic for .5/1 - 2/4. Thanks for your help.

Hello pros,

I just would like to ask you guys, if you know some poker site where I can play low HU cash. I currently play at Casino Euro... its part of On game network..I guess.. it doesnt, however, offer any rake back ...
I like pokerstars, but the lowest HU cash is 0,25/0,50 which is very high for me. I am looking for something like 5-10 usd max buyin to the table. I know that at these stakes I wont make big rake back, but when I look at my stats and I see how much I paid as a rake... I thought that any dolar from rakeback would be nice...

so if there is any site with this kinda combination (low hu cash games + rakeback) I would be very happy to hear about.

thanks a lot

BetRaiser, there is no rake. So, no need for rakeback.
