villain running 20/17 over 2k hands and seems like a reg
I called pre because 4betting and either getting shoved on or called and having to play JJ OOP seemed miserable.
If I could replay the hand, I would have bet turn probably, just to try to protect my equity. I interpreted the blocker bet to mean middling pair (99 OR TT) or weak Ax that would 3bet (A9, A10?) but i would really expect the latter to cbet.
OTR, I just couldn't find a hand that would play this way and have me beat other than KK, QQ which might still cbet fwiw. Any Ax would either cbet or bet larger OTT. I don't really know any 8x can be in his range either here. Is it a call here or are we too afraid of KK, QQ, Ax?
I don't think I have enough Ax's in my range OTR to fold JJ no diamond. I'm calling.
Not a big fan of betting turn with this or with any of our pocket pairs, really. It makes our turn check range absurdly weak, and he's rarely folding better to a turn bet.
No reason to bet the turn. villian could be checking w JJ-KK and weak Aces on the flop and there are not many cards to protect against. We also allow villian to stab on the turn. When he bets the river so big I think he is really polarized since I dont expect TT-KK to bet so big. So he is repping a strong Ace or an 8, I think both are unlikely given his line and how many air combos he could have. I would call here.
Interesting to see the results. I would make a note on the river bet sizing
not sure what his 3 bet range is, but wouldn't be surprised at all to see A9and below check. unlikely to get 3 streets. give you some rope. avoids getting raised by draws/bluffs. Actually pretty standard checks with ace little on the flop imo.
@Haizemberg93 - yeah, good point. I didn't see that the turn brought in a flush draw. Probably would prefer to not block hearts over not blocking diamonds, although maybe in a perfect world we don't block either. Makes the spot a lot closer, although I'm still leaning toward a call.
