Re: USDOJ Preparing to Reverse 2011 Wire Act Opinion

DOJ Delay on Wire Act Prosecution Little Comfort to WSOP NJ Players

https://www.uspoker.com/blog/doj-del...help-nj/25932/

So as far as I can tell this is mainly going to effect the NJ/NV compact with combined poker games, IF it goes thru, right?

Does it have any real effect on being in a state like NV that has no rules against online gambling like some states do, and playing on ACR poker for example?

What about sports betting on offshore book? Will this change this at all being DOJ can't force offshore book to stop offering. Will they go after people for betting there when they never have before?

"The government agency will now hold off on prosecution until June 14, 2019"

Who are they going to prosecute at that point?

The DOJ would be prosecuting sites and service providers who violate the Wire Act, not players.

Re: USDOJ Preparing to Reverse 2011 Wire Act Opinion

NEW (Friday, March 22, 2019) The US Department of Justice appears to be doubling-down on the OLC's re-interpretation of the Wire Act. News Friday afternoon that the DOJ is requesting that the New Hampshire lawsuit (which challenges the new interpretation) be dismissed.

Re: USDOJ Preparing to Reverse 2011 Wire Act Opinion

Interstate lotteries among others are in trouble if this new interpretation is enforced.
Don't Powerball and megamillions operate by having servers in multiple states for interstate gambling? I don't understand how these lotteries will NOT be in trouble under new Wire Act assuming its proper and practical enforcement.
