can you elaborate on what you mean with this?

Wishful thinking IMO. The delay of the UIGEA today apparrently caused Party's stock to go up (or maybe it was due to some other factor). The possibility of them being able to at some point in the future improved marginally today, but nothing more. The UIGEA is still the law, sort of. There is still a long way to go before things will have changed enough to allow Party to come back.

Seriously Pokerstars and FTP should throw $ at Theengineer after UIEGA crumbles, this guy is an inspiration because of his relentlessness. He deserves more reward for all his effort, Way to go Engineer.

I guess I should be happy about this but I just can't get excited about a government agency delaying a problem that another part of the government created. I hope everyone is paying attention to how huge of a waste of resources (time, energy, money) the government is.

Thanks! I'm glad we're all hanging together on this. Once we have final confirmation, I'm looking forward to players from all over rallying for our rights.

I sure don't care. I avoid FT and PS like a plague. Let's throw some money at the congressman who support legalization and regulation of US based companies.

Every bill in Congress on this issue does just that.

Interestingly Party shares got crushed today - not that this really means anything.
The beauty of this delay - assuming it becomes official - is that it represents the first tangible victory for our side. Hopefully many more to come. Thanks to everyone who has helped.

lol at people talking about party

delaying regs will have nothing to do party coming back other than one step in a multi-step process

The entire worlds stock market got crushed today, so no need for alarm. Yesterday was only a few percent gain, again nothing to get excited about

Didn't know Mastercard made the Horseracing decision. That looks like the straw that broke lose the KY support that ended up pushing this over the top.

i think people need to remember that even if party did come back to the US while the uigea has still not been overturned it doesnt mean party will be the gold mine it once was. it would be no different in terms of play to ftp or stars

There's a reason for the saying "keep your friends close and your enemies closer".

Question though, with the DoJ going after the processors, this even wont stop that correct? though they do lose alot of "base" they were using, because now just using a 50 yr old wire act looks just stupid correct?

IIRC In most cases where some official documents have been made public by the court the DOJ hasn't used UIGEA to go after processors, but other laws.

One thing that occurred to me that hasn't been mentioned (or theorized since we have no way of knowing) is that the delay could be read as a sign the the Obama administration might be ready to take a softer approach regarding i-gaming. Thus far it has been unclear what their stance was. Initially the seizure cases were clearly something started under the prior regime and allowed to continue because it was so far along. As they continued it became less clear. This seems like a good and potentially meaningful sign.
