Glad to finally be a member on one of the most recognizable poker sites in the world!

Now that I have cleared that notion. I'm "Done" with all the instructions. 2) Make it individual, non-commentable threads each day so people don't have to wade through pages and pages of comments trying to find the next daily action.
3) Create a separate action comment/suggestion thread so they can suggest actions and comment on the actions posted by Rich and the other suggestions.

What do people think

Superb idea! Stickies always worked great in the office environment and they'll surely play a crucial role as to promote/advertise daily actions in the poker world!

Indeed. I just posted one on the house Committee 10 minutes ago and it was deleted. They could momentarily erase our comments but are concerns and desires will not die!

Please write your article TheEngineer. People need to hear that lawmakers are constantly censoring politely worded comments from American citizens on their social networking pages. This is probably occurring with other topics well, not just online poker.
The Engineer has a great approach to go around things... and I'm simply amazed by it all! I would definitely write an article about it. Aren't public officials pages suppose to be "up and active" to promote the citizens concerns... or just to feed there own personal agenda?

Yesterday's online poker hearing went very well. Let's all take 30 seconds today to thank subcommittee Chair Mary Bono Mack (R-CA) for holding the hearing and to share with her the fact that bots can be countered. Thanks!
Does the PPA know an expert that will meet in private with them and tell them some of the ways to catch bots? I wouldn't think he would want that info public.

Please support HR 2366, raise revenue without raising taxes

As a voter and a resident of greater Cincinnati, I am writing to ask you to support legislation that licenses Internet poker in the U.S. This bill raises revenue without raising taxes.

In response to the demands of millions of Americans for licensed online poker, Congressman Joe Barton (R-TX) and a bipartisan group of his House colleagues introduced H.R. 2366, the Online Poker Act of 2011. This bill does not authorize video poker or any other house-banked casino-style game. Rather, it provides for sensible regulation of the game of online poker -- the electronic version of the game families across America play at the kitchen table -- and is limited to this person-to-person game of skill.

I ask that you please bring this bill to the attention of the deficit reduction super committee. This legislation will provide much needed federal and state revenue without raising taxes. It will also bring American companies into the Internet poker market, bringing needed jobs to Ohio with them. It will provide strong consumer protections and age verification requirements as well. U.S.-based horse race wagering sites have proven that online betting sites can successfully implement these important protections. The game of poker deserves no less.

Former Homeland Security Advisor Tom Ridge supports federal licensing of online poker because it addresses control and accountability of cash flows. Additionally, WiredSafety, the world's largest Internet safety group, commissioned an in-depth study of this issue. The study, which was conducted by Harvard University, examined issues like blocking of underage participation, prevention of money laundering, and providing of consumer protections against fraud and abuse. The study concluded that "combining a thoughtful regulatory scheme with education, technology tools, and support appears to be the most effective means of handling the realities and risks" of online poker. This groundbreaking study can be found at www.theppa.org/harvardstudy.

Many conservatives oppose efforts to prohibit online poker, including Grover Norquist, George Will, Rep. Joe Barton, Rep. Ron Paul, Rep. John Campbell, Rep. Peter King, and many others. In fact, I interviewed Mr. Norquist on this topic. That interview is on Townhall.com at http://poker.blogtownhall.com/2010/0...ne_poker.thtml.

Every federal dollar wasted on efforts to stop American adults from playing online poker is another dollar added to the federal deficit. Licensing and regulating U.S.-based poker will work better than prohibition. Quite frankly, there's simply no reason not to pass HR 2366 into law.

Please support my freedoms by supporting this bill. Thank you for your consideration.
So informative, yet elegantly put!

It's true. Prohibition in many sectors of American living has not worked. Early liquor prohibitions just stemmed the uprise of alcohol related crimes. By punishing a few of the notable people who schemed by profiteering off of online poker... by the millions who look to poker as a great pass time and of a highly educated game- is a crying shame!

LastLife, can you set up this one (or something similar) next?

Huge untapped industry! Job creation w/minimal government investment! Billions in revenues for #deficit from HR2366!

(I listened to a little bit of the Joint Deficit Reduction Committee hearing today. The lack of govt investment into a new project is pretty important in the context of the super committee.)

(And hoping "huge untapped industry" might raise an eyebrow or two.)

Thanks!

good lord

we really REALLY REALLLLLY need to get those in favor of freedoms on our side.

They hear the word "regulation" and they have a heart attack and mash their keyboard, "NO MORE REGULATIONSSSLKJ!!!!!!!!!!!"

We are already over-regulated by a virtual prohibition.Future regulations will make government SMALLER.

These regulations should not dictate what happens at the poker table. It should dictate what happens to the corporations/regulator. The regulator should establish bylaws that clearly indicate player rules such as cheating/bots/etc, but nothing else. If I want to play $5/$10 razz, I should be able to do so.
