Done!

I thought the hearing went really, really well. There was a bit of misunderstanding with regard to the ability to detect and eliminate bots, and the tribal interests will be a hard sell, but I think today's hearing was very positive overall.

Imo, tribes are going to have to compromise. There is no way a federal bill passes that has taxation with tribes being exempt.

Yesterday's online poker hearing went very well. Let's all take 30 seconds today to thank subcommittee Chair Mary Bono Mack (R-CA) for holding the hearing and to share with her the fact that bots can be countered. Thanks!
  1. Please send the tweets HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE. Try to space them out by at least an hour, either manually or by scheduling them in advance HERE. If you can't, it's better to send them all at once than not at all.
  2. Let's post pro-poker comments to her latest Facebook posts on this issue HERE and HERE.
  3. Send a prefilled tweet promoting today's action plan HERE.
Please reply in this thread with "posted", "done", etc. to encourage others to participate. The past 57 actions have generated triple-digit participation, so let's keep it growing. Thanks!

TruFloridaGator and many others are supporting the effort by giving away coaching and other items to active participants. Please see Fight for Poker Rights/Free MTT/SNG/Cash Coaching/Site Sub Giveaway! Not too late to join! for more.

Perhaps a bit arrogant, but crossposting, 'cause I think I have a good point:

No one even brought up the statistical tools that are available for use (PT3/HEM) when searching out bots/super users. Also, no one mentioned the captcha system that ensures real users and not just a computer running a bot.

If the PPA and FairPlayUSA are unfamiliar with these safeguards then they need a knowledgeable representative and the sooner the better.
+1!

Well, what I was thinking is even more precise. Perhaps we need a presentation of some sort, a video, a tutorial not at all unlike the ones done by the poker training sites. Heck, It is so easy to make, that I’d bet many competent people would chip in into seeing this happen.

What we need is utilization of all this brain fund that the 2p2 is. We need to organize. TrueFloridaGator offered free training in return for ~[getting involved with the iPoker regulation], IIRC. People are willing to contribute. PPA and FPUSA have the means to getting whatever it is needs to be passed on to the relevant people. We, as a community, have everything necessary to convince the right people and consequently get things moving. Make a panel (ask people who are reputable) to focus directly on this. Have one work on one aspect, the other on another etc. We can even make a wiki-type of thing, it just needs structure to be organized in.

I would analyze (pun intended) the hearing, broke it down, got all the questions/controversial spots etc. and even sort of tried to predict what questions might arise and answered those as well (that would be impressive to anyone). The fact is I am nowhere near being knowledgeable/smart to do that.
This is what had to be done before the hearing. I mean it is obvious that those types of questions were going to be asked. So perhaps we should’ve forseen it and covered that in the daily plans as well.

It does seem like it is still a long way to regulation after this hearing, but by taking this into our own hands I am certain that we can reduce the wait at least %50. I mean we all revolve around poker, so dealing with incomplete information is almost second nature to most. Here, I think, our "opponent" laid out ALL of it's blueprints. All the info we need is there. All that needs to be done is to actually do it.

Let’s make this happen, ‘cause “yes, we can” .
