Texas AG Requested to Opine on Legality of Poker Clubs Texas AG Requested to Opine on Legality of Poker Clubs

The chairperson of a Texas House committee has requested an opinion from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on the legality of membership/time rake poker clubs that are proliferating across the state.

Rendering these opinions can take up to 6 months. Paxton is the same Texas AG that provided the 2016 opinion that daily fantasy sports are illegal under Texas law.

Here's a link to an article discussing the opinion request:

Of course, Paxton is ALSO the same Texas AG that remains under indictment for securities-related fraud...

I am curious when you or any of the other SIGH shills will finally own up to who the group really is given the consistent refusals to place any manner of contact on their website beyond a gmail account address. Even the national SIG group run by the AGA has actual contact information on their page and allows a visitor to know who they are.

Anyone who does not believe SIGH and their shills have an agenda is, simply put, an idiot. If the group was so convinced they were righteous, they would not go to such lengths to hide their identities...

The Texas AG's office is still providing opinions, and it's business as usual. Paxton is also running for re-election unopposed in the Republican primary. It doesn't appear the indictment...the federal version of which he's already beaten...has slowed him down at all.

I can see this all playing out just like daily fantasy has in Texas:
1. Negative AG Opinion comes out.
2. Some clubs get scared and shut down. The remaining clubs perhaps face enforcement actions.
3. A few legislators take it up in the next Lege session in 2019.
4. A poker club legalization bill dies in committee just like daily fantasy legalization legislation did in 2017.

Game...set...match.
