I'm clueless but I would guess New York will pass in 2018. Hopefully i'm not too optimistic but there was positive movement in 2017 so hopefully it somehow can get through in 2018 or 2019. Honestly though I have no clue.

Any chance more states will make online poker legal ala a domino effect as more states pass? Ugh this process has been so slow and really obnoxious. I just wanna play poker like pre black friday where stars and tilt offered so many juicy tournies on weekends with huge prize pools. Its insane to think about what happened to online poker. It was so juicy pre black friday and now its just terrible if you are located in the US. Hate to say it but honestly don't see tilt/stars like offerings down the road which really sucks.

Unfortunately, I don't believe NY will pass any bill in 2018 when all is said and done. The govt cronies who are bought and paid for by the remaining 2 brick and mortar casinos that are opening up in upstate NY (one in the catskills closest to nyc and another further upstate) in 2018 want to see how business goes there before allowing for any online gaming to encroach on their turf. Here is to hoping I am wrong. I still do my part by emailing etc. my state assemblymen and senators recurringly.

I think you should be slightly more optimistic. The fact a lot of movement occurred in 2017 gives me hope. You bring up great points however I feel a deal could possibly be completed in 2018. Who knows though honestly. Even if it doesn't pass, it's not horrible.

Playing against only ny residents is lame and there will be no massive player pool mtts. Until we get a bunch of states legalized and states joining networks, online poker for the us is going to be laughable compared to pre Black Friday.
