Didn't know where to put this post and I also didn't want to make a new thread so I'll just post here.

I used to follow the legislation daily about a year ago but have been abscent since so I just wanted to catch up. Is it looking any brighter? Will americans ever be allowed back on the euro sites or will it only be state by state and best case scenario nation wide sites?

Good luck with all your efforts.

Glennis:

The battle to legalize and regulate online poker continues. At this point, the opposition is attempting to ban online poker nationwide by restoring the wire act, known as RAWA. The opposition is largely funded by billionaire Sheldon Adelson. A nationwide ban against online poker would negatively affect me, as I have a safe, legal, regulated, and taxed online poker account in NJ.

Please consider visiting theppa.org, and reading through the many links on that website. I strongly urge you to consider taking part in the Daily Action Plan, as outlinen by Rich "The Engineer" Muny. The daily action plan usually involves making Facebook and Twitter comments on lawmakers accounts. I also suggest writing and calling your senators, congress person, and state lawmakers, to let them know where you stand on this important issue.

I hope that you decide to join us. Each new person that joins ThePPA.org, who contacts there lawmakers, and completes the daily action plan, makes us that much stronger. Working Together, I believe that we can convince lawmakers to not enact a nationwide ban.

Thank You. Happy Holidays and Good Luck.

Is there anything that can be done to get Caesars, MGM etc to pressure Reid not to support Adelson's bill? Surely Caesars wants legal online poker as a national WSOP.com would be a huge moneymaker

I phoned all three of mine. Sen. Mitch McConnell and Sen. Rand Paul's offices took my information. It was nice explaining that I was calling Sen. Paul because his dad told me to. :-) I have good contacts in that office, but still wished to call in and participate.

My congressman, Rep. Thomas Massie, signed into the anti-RAWA letter. Yay! So, I emailed my contacts in his office a friendly thank you.

Several reasons I'm leaving, and no poker is not on the top of the list, but it certainly isn't at the bottom either. The David Williams led politics of this state really hold it back.
