Well it is still a gray area but it is definitely possible. I play a lot. And yeah pokerstars is doing a small local show in Singapore anyway.
So yes there will be no problems playing on stars.
As far as I'm aware of, the only laws in Singapore related to gambling, prohibits "live" gambling venues which operate solely for gambling related activities that is open to the masses. There are no laws that explicitly state that online gaming is illegal. However, the banks here prohibit the use of your credit/debit card transactions for gaming purposes. Of course you can always get around this by going through an e-wallet eg. Moneybookers. I've been playing alot of online poker and have not encountered any legality issues yet. You can log on to almost all of the sites/skins offered in the market.
And yes, PokerStars did sponsor a poker reality show,
Asian Poker Showdown, that was hosted in Singapore, something similar to that of the Australian version hosted by Joe Hachem. But this show is not televised on national TV but rather being streamed on the internet.
Hope this helps! PM me if you need further information!
