I wouldn't hold my breath - but things could change quickly. This year is out (even if/when passed it would take a while, year maybe, to be implemented)

Chicago casino will need to go first. Casino's/Race Tracks/ Thoroughbred association still need to get on the same page. Right now Online poker is on the backburner for sure (people don't even bring it up to me anymore and I don't bother asking)

Cullerton, our biggest alley, will probably retire when his term is up. So in four years if nothing happens, that might mean it's never happening.

Re: Finally Illinois Has an Online Bill

Yesterday, H. 479, which would license and regulate online poker, online casino-style gaming and daily fantasy sports in Illinois, was approved by the full Illinois Senate 42-10. The bill now goes back to the state House where it passed 92-17 back in February (prior to being amended in the Senate to include iGaming and DFS regulation).

The House is in recess and is expected to return to work later in June. Because of the fiscal situation facing Illinois and the need to pass a budget that includes new revenues, several industry observers believe there is a chance that iGaming/DFS regulation could become part of the budget.

When is the eta before we find out if online poker passes all the necessary things to become law. Just speculations please and how long before they would get a system up and running.

Do we know if they will actually return/vote on it this year? My rep responded to me saying 2017 Sessions had finished. **Note was one of the 17 of course.

Last year they didn't return until November.
They have until the end of this month tho to get a budget in place or IL will be the first state ever to receive a junk rating on their bonds.
So whether or not they get a special session going idk. I'd probably place money on the fail line.

I received an email from the DFS sites about a hearing tomorrow in Illinois that could have an impact on DFS moving forward, any idea if this is tied to the poker / gambling bills?

* The difference between the past few days and today is that House members were told that nothing would happen and they could go home if they wanted and await further news. Because of that advice, however, not enough showed up for a quorum and they couldn’t approve the Senate’s adjournment resolution, so they’re technically stuck in session*looking like mopes…
