I live in Illinois and as resident of this fine state I would like your opinion on something?
Can I put the champagne on ice?

If Stars gets in then Ftp software is in and combine that with the fact that it gives other operators a standard to be compared to.

Aren't the other operators already teaming with international sites currently competing with Stars?

Some of them will use there software and some of them will build their own.
In a perfect world I would have Stars customer service with Ftp software, which row has now. I will call it heaven when the USA fish pool is added to that equation.

There are many great places in IL outside of chicagoland, unfortunately the state is run so poorly its a burden to its residents.

Re: Finally Illinois Has an Online Bill
So it looks like Sen Murphy might cause a little trouble.
""That may end up being the biggest part of the bill," said state Sen. Matt Murphy, a Palatine Republican.
"And it's the part we're spending the least amount of time on."
Concerns about underage players and people getting addicted have raised red flags for opponents and even for lawmakers like Murphy who have voted for gambling expansion in the past to support Arlington Park's bid for slot machines.
"I would absolutely like to see another state experience this live before we jump in," Murphy said."

I think Quinn could cause some problems as well. ..

I wonder how much Nazi gold is being stuffed into Quinns mouth by being such a huge opponent of gaming in Illinois.
Don't tell me its because he wants to get pensions figured out first because that doesn't make any sense to me.

Quinn has made it a point to do everything, not just gambling, "with strict by the book regulations"
He wants that narrative for the upcoming elections (to seem opposite of Blago etc.) So that hurts us a little. I think it's more of a "Hey, lets put some restrictions on this so I look good then I'll sign it" than "opponent of gambling". At least I hope so.

Re: Finally Illinois Has an Online Bill
They can't even get run away pensions under control, or put a brick and mortar casino near Chicago. I think getting these bozos to sign off on online poker is quite a ways away. The best thing that can happen is Nevada has success and they all realize how much online poker will appeal to their greed.

I think the reason they have been dragging their feet so long on putting a casino in Chicago has nothing to do with gambling. I think it has more to do with where would you put it without pissing off to many people. Chicago understands the kind of people that go to the horseshoe in IN and understand that many of these same people will be coming to their casino. I feel like if they put it in the wrong place it could really hurt the value of that area in the city and that's whats been holding up this bill.
Also they already have the IL lotto online so they don't seem to be against online gambling, and are more about whats going to make them the most amount of money.

Re: Finally Illinois Has an Online Bill
What exactly by 'kind of people' do you mean?
If it's the way I think it is, that's because it's on the south side in an economically depressed area. The clientele at the chicago casino would be very different.

It is pretty easy to control who comes to the casino through drink prices and minimum bets on games.

Madigan has his own plan too. So that could slow Cullertons bill down.
Either way, session is over for two and a half weeks. So don't expect any news for a while.
