Can i be taxed for 10 months?? Can i be taxed for 10 months??

Hello,

So, I rented an airbnb in France, I sent the winamax code here (upgrade the address to be able to play) and I have been playing there since the beginning of February.
I plan to stay in France for personal reasons until November / December.
My doubt is, can i be taxed for these months, considering that my fiscal address is not here, it is still in my country of origin.

Thanks for the help

For one, it depends on your country of origin.

Answer: Probably.

I‘m not sure what you mean by „fiscal address“, but generally, if you are in France for ten months this year, you would be considered a resident of France for 2018 and be subject to French income tax, not Portuguese income tax.

Also, don‘t rely on tax advice from random people on the internet.

I mean i don't have nothing in my name there, i am staying on a airbnb. So its like i am in Portugal still because i did not Change anything to France. Got it?
The only place my adress appears um France is on the poker Room.

It doesn‘t matter whether you „appear to be there“. It matters whether you *are* there.

You need to look at the tax laws for the jurisdiction. However, in many places, there may be a liability that exists but also a concurrent provision that allows for some manner of refund if residency or other threshold elements exist.

Analogy would be when I competed in a professional sport. If I had income in a State with an income tax, I had to file in the State but was often eligible for a refund because of a residency issue. So, while no true liability existed in that jurisdiction, I still had to file or risk being hit with penalties for not having filed in the first place...

In the case of international travelers, consult someone skilled in tax law for THAT jurisdiction if you don't want to read the codes yourself...
