Assembly hearing ... Apr 23 online poker fiscal impacts ..

I found hearing info at this site, seems very good to keep up to date with the ca poker efforts ..

Stars issue is the biggest road block right now, seems like stars is fighting back but the opposition is very fierce against "bad actors".

"Our next big indicator as to the potential for online poker legislation making it through the legislature will likely take place next month when the California Assembly holds a hearing titled, “Public Policy and Fiscal Implications of Authorizing Intrastate Internet Poker in California,” which will take place on April 23rd."

Unfortunately my rep is not on that committee ...

However you can find the members at http://agov.assembly.ca.gov/membersstaff

You can find your district (I have no idea how my rep is ... he will be a republican I written plenty to him but no real response). If this moves a bit I'll call him for sure.

Nice article rebuking Sen. Dianne Feinstein cosponsor of Fed ban bill. Like the tribes and clubs complaining when one of there own, goes of the "reservation". I doubt the senator will change her view but receding to the shadows will do ...

No harm to CA legislation and maybe a small kick in the butt to all supports to pass and get a grandfather clause in the bill for existing laws.

This was a different bill at the beginning. Informational hearing only, but so far very positive for gaming. NV regulator says gaming is not a good way to launder money. That kills a big argument against us, now just need to get tribes on board.

Wow - hearing is going very well, tribal leaders seems to be close to agreement and want to move forward soon to forestall interference of Washington. Sheldon will go down as the player that moved to legalized, regulated poker in California.

Tribes seem to want to move this year.
