Hey ladies,

My girlfriend is a cocktail waitress at a casino, and she gets hit on/harassed by a lot of the creepy guys that come in. At first I didn't care too much, and thought it was flattering (she's really pretty), but now I can tell that she's getting really frustrated at work and has had some really bad experiences with some creepers.

Some examples include: guys following her around the casino while she's working, guys waiting for her shift to end to talk to her or "walk her to her car", guys hugging her and taking pictures with her. Just some overall creepy stuff where the guy "can't take a hint" and doesn't understand that the waitress is just doing her job. She's feeling pretty creeped out by the whole situation now, and will most likely quit her job soon. Before she quits, I wanted to ask the ladies on here if they had any recommendations or suggestions for her on how to handle this situation? She wants to be nice and polite to all patrons, but unfortunately a lot of guys mistake her kindness for interest.

She's a very sweet person that just got into the working world (she's 23), so she still has a lot to learn about creepy guys at the workplace. I told her to just start being a bitch to all the guys that take it too far, and she's starting to do that more, but I can tell it's just not in her nature and makes her feel pretty uncomfortable to constantly have to be rude in front of bosses/co-workers. She's the kind of girl that's always cheery and smiling and loves to talk to everyone.

Is there anything in particular that she could say to these guys that would work? Also, is there any weapon other than pepper spray that she should be carrying around?

Get a wedding or engagement ring and wear it to work, if they start to creep her out just say, "my husband wouldn't like that, he's the jealous type"

Have her tell the security guys to talk with the creepers to let them get the hint.

Source : casino security, I do this all the time

She wears a ring but that doesn't stop most of em. Also, she looks pretty young, so I'm sure guys just assume that she's not super serious with anyone.

I'd start using the pepper spray personally

I'd like to see how she feels about this, and not just from the boyfriends perspective.

A lot of those creepy guys probably tip well and pay a large portion of her tips. If some of them take it to the next level of creepy she should take it up with management or security of the facility.

I think it would be helpful for your girlfriend to post here herself, so that we can get her perspective as a woman.
