I pretty much said those exact words when that commercial aired.

Never gonna buy a Coke product again. Might have to include Vitamin Water too, which sucks cuz I love Vitamin Water.

Re: Never Dinking Coke Again!!!!

OMG, I am appalled that such a strong, moral, religious, anti-gambling hero like Bill Frist would GAMBLE a bottle of Coke upon this game of "Jinx" ON NATIONAL TELEVISION... I played "Jinx" as a child and the "no talking" penalty was all that we did... now, tomorrow during recess, hundreds of thousands of kids who watched the ad will be wagering soft drinks on their schoolyard games and beginning the slippery slope of gambling degeneracy that will force them to rob banks and ruin their lives! America is doomed!!!!!

Oh, wait. As long as these kids don't play "Jinx" for Cokes THROUGH THE INTERNETS, our morals are safe. Nevermind. That was a close one.

I am--was-- a big coke drinker. Also, I liked their minute maid OJ.

Somebody should put together a list of all Coke products.

Big mistake Coke.

Re: Never Dinking Coke Again!!!!

I jumped out of my chair when I saw that jackoff on the Coke commercial. This may become a big deal in a few days when the word gets out but my guess is very few poker players even know what Frist looks like. Lucky for us 2+2 won't let us down on spreading this news.

Do I have to give up the Dew or is that a Pepsi product?

I dont know if I feel dumb or not. I watched the commercial and I didnt recognize Frist. He needs a good plastic surgeon, he has really aged. Maybe the evil is weighing on his soul.

Re: Never Dinking Coke Again!!!!

You may not agree with everything they stand for, but they know how to apply pressure:

http://www.peta.org/actioncenter/submit-idea.asp

Quote:
While in medical school, Senator Frist was involved in a lab project which entailed dissecting feline remains. In a 1989 autobiography, Frist described how he "spent days and nights on end in the lab, taking the hearts out of cats, dissecting each heart." After some time, Frist said "[the lab] lost their supply of cats," The project, which needed to be completed as part of the medical school curriculum, could not be finished without another supply of cats. Frist obtained cats from animal shelters, falsely suggesting that he wanted to adopt them as pets, an act that he described as "heinous and dishonest." He attributed his behavior to the pressures of school.

Re: Never Dinking Coke Again!!!!

I will be writing coke if for no other reason then to hopefully spread the word that Frist is tainted and reduce his chances (even if it is by a infinitesimal amount) of future sponsorship.

This is a good idea.

Boycotting Coke is overkill and completely unwarranted. The commercial was innocuous and did not serve to advance Frist's politics or agenda.

Stop fighting the last Bad Beat, move on.

Hey, quit fighting yesterday's bad beats. I hate that cat-abusing, healthcare gouging, self-righteous self-appointed messenger of God, as much as anyone.

BUT, your time would be better spent in the present, not in the past .... act looking forward, not crying about a really BAD BEAT ..... don't develope a leak in your game because of it.

I have a huge Coke habit and will switch to Pepsi or Pepsi Max, they are interchangeable as far as I'm concerned. My hate for Frist runs that deep. I will write and if I get a good response I will undo my boycott.

Do you do the My Coke Rewards? 24 points for a coupon, read on.....

Never look a gift horse in the mouth, so to speak.

Yes, I see an opportunity here.

Ok, the commercial was about to unreasonable people sitting down and being reasonable.

So, that is what we want as well.

The promo, we need gift certificates for a can of coke to include with hard copy letters to ALL our reps in congress.

Imagine, we close the letter with, lets work this out over a can of Coca-Cola, like Bill and James and since I can't be there, enjoy a cola on me.

Or something to that effect.

Re: Never Dinking Coke Again!!!!

Guys Coke probably doesn't even have any idea about Frists connection with gambling and even if they did, they could care less. What does gambling have to do with Coke anyway?

Coke just wanted a commercial with a Rebublican and a Democrat, so they picked 2 out of the air. So what? They meant nothing by it.
