I'm pretty sure it can extend into next year also. I don't think there is any chance of a veto, though.

Perhaps this explains why we came here and lied about online play. He needed to explain where he got the $25K.
TE, PX:

Thanks for falsely accusing me of being a criminal. I'm now talking with my lawyer about suing you, (along with Alphonse D'Amato and John Pappas), both jointly and severally for defaming my character and reputation. (Relax, I'm kidding.)

There's no way that I and this "Former DJ" radio station employee (or former employee) are one and the same person. First of all, that guy is a bald headed dork while I still have most of my hair and I'm a chick magnet. Most beautiful young women wouldn't be caught dead in bed with that guy while I have to beat 'em off with a stick. Most of my lady friends tell me that they love me because of my charm and personality - and they would still love me even if I had no money and I didn't buy them expensive gifts. This loser's problem is that no woman would get anywhere near him - even if he did have money!

The clearest proof that I'm not this guy is that he is stupid in addition to being hideously ugly. If I intended to scam people I wouldn't do it for a measly $25,000.00 - I would set up (and run) a real scam such as a poker site in Costa Rica named "Ultimate Bet" or "Absolute Poker". I would scam people for millions, not a mere twenty-five thousand dollars! Alternatively, I might set up a lobbying organization with the initials "PPA" and charge poker players $20.00 a pop to join while telling them that I'm fighting for their rights. Charging $20.00 a pop times 1.2 million members adds up to almost 1,000 times what this doofus made with his little scam. This guy is a small time operator who probably has a small penis. My girlfriends tell their girlfriends that I'm hung like a horse - in addition to being well off and driving a very nice car. His girlfriend (if he even has a girlfriend) probably begs him to take Viagra.

The final proof that I'm not this guy is that I was a disc jockey 35 years ago, back in the days when the "on air talent" was local, the music was played on vinyl records, (not CDs), and we often read commercials live on the air. In other words, back when disc jockeys had talent, imagination, and personality - and kept their jobs because they generated high Arbitron ratings for their station. The fact that this guy managed to get arrested for running such a dull and unimaginative scam is proof positiive that he has no talent or imagination. (I suppose this guy can get a job as a PPA State Director once he gets out of prison.)

^^^^ But how do you explain the fact that he was identified in the newspaper by YOUR 2+2 name? You can't, you don't even try. The names are even spelled the same. Case closed (at least by your own standards).

It seems you have never even visited the PPA web site. Most members have signed up for the free membership. Those that wish to contribute to the cause can upgrade to the $20 premium membership, or choose a higher level of contribution.

It sure is suspicious.

It's also interesting that he was just offering $10K to anyone who could prove he's from FoF. The fact that he's thinking about this range of money seems to imply that he just received five figures in cash.

Yep....by his standards the case is clearly closed.

The guy in the story is a huge liar and fraud. The poster in these forums who, supposedly, used to work in radio is also a confirmed liar and fraud.

However, one thing you have going for you here, 'DJ', is the likelihood that your claim of once working in radio is a lie. Your lie to truth ratio is pretty astronomical. Therefore, I would like to come out on your behalf and say that it is pretty unlikely you are capable of telling the truth about something so central to your identity on here.

Vindicated in my book!

Former DJ's confirmed lying is quite interesting. Even more interesting is his nonchalance about the issue, as if lying is a routine thing for him. He's even surprised it was mentioned at all. That says everything I need to know about his character.

OMFG can somebody just drop the banhammer on this assmunch already? I have him on Ignore but that is fairly useless since

1) everyone keeps calling him out on his BS
2) he keeps responding with even more BS, and
3) he apparently keeps spreading lies and half-truths

Not much point as somebody who clearly has an agenda beyond being part of a poker community would just create a new account and persona. Deceit is second nature to this poor little orphan.

You only have to go back a few pages for all the details.

Cliffs: He posts in this thread how if HR 2267 passes Alabama will surely opt-out and he will "lose substantial income" and possibly need to "get a day job."

sba9630 pulls up other posts where he says he has only played online poker at one site (going through one buy-in over a few months) and that he hasn't played at all in over a year.

Can't both be true. Former DJ responds that this was "just embellishment."

PL forum has good laugh.

Skallagrim

PS, this ignores more important lying like misquoting text of legislation and politicians' statements. Former DJ responds that putting important text in quotation marks does not mean it is a direct quote, but rather a "paraphrase."

Yep I was pretty much going to make this post until I read yours. Seriously, what has happened to this thread? I keep checking it thinking there's gonna be some new developments but all I see is a big lame argument with a crazy person (pathological liar?).

And Flaming STDJ, before you even reply here: no, we are not calling for a ban because you don't support the PPA or the current legislation. We are calling for you to be banned because you do nothing except pick fights.

TE:

So "Former DJ" should be banned? Is that what you mean when you ask others to help you take "appropriate action?"

That's one way to stifle and suppress dissent with the PPA line - send the dissenter a nice little PM informing him that he has an "infraction" and has been assessed 10 points. (I don't know what "infractions" mean here on 2+2 other than, "I'm the moderator and I am extremely PO'd with you.") While you're at it, accuse the dissenter of being a pathological liar, an FoF spy, guilty of failing to explain "inconsistencies" in his postings, and of having an agenda - implying that the PPA is pure as the driven snow and has no agenda of their own. And while we're at it, just for fun, let's post a link to a news report off the internet taking a cheap shot at Former DJ by linking him to some radio station employee allegedly involved in a criminal act. (Oh wait, I apologize TE - it wasn't you that took that cheap shot. It was one of your buddies - Skall or PX.) You all had a good laugh over that one - until I came back and plastered you. That's what is really driving you guys nuts - you can dish it out, but you sure can't take it.

The real problem is that this "pathological liar" keeps raising troubling issues that the PPA would prefer poker players just ignore - issues such as the PPA's position on the opt-out provision of Senator Menendez's bill and all the problems attendant with that, as well as financial conflicts of interest within the PPA itself. I'm speaking here specifically of the reported $5,000,000.00 "bonus" that Chairman D'Amato has pointedly failed to deny, while, according to TE, Mr. D'Amato will not dignify such an allegation with a comment despite the fact that this has been written about and posted on the internet by at least one journalist. (If you challenge me or accuse me of "lying" on this one or posting an "unsubstantiated" charge, I'll be happy to repost Tom Stomach's 2007 article - and any others that I can find on the topic. Wait, somebody has already knocked that one down insisting that Stomach is not "a real journalist" and I should "Google" him. I believe that kind of non-denial denial is called "Kill the messenger!" That technique was very popular with the Nixon crowd during Watergate.)

Yes, we don't want a "pathological liar" raising these kind of pesky questions, so the best way to deal with such a person is to encourage a chorus of bullfrogs to bay for the "problem" to be banned. It would be so much nicer if the PPA operated under a dictatorship like Saddam Hussein's Iraq. Then Chairman D'Amato could just have "Former DJ" shot. That would be even better than having him banned from some internet message board.

It's very telling when the predominant response to challenge and dissent becomes "Who are you and what is your agenda?" and from there gradually devolves into "I'm getting calls from a lot of posters wanting you banned." That says a lot about the weakness of the PPA's position and the agenda the PPA is trying to promote when the primary response to questions and legitimate concerns becomes a cry that the questioner should be banned. When PPA hacks start suggesting that I should be "banned" rather than defending their positions with solid and convincing arguments, I would suggest that I'm not the problem.

Thank you flight2q. Not only are you correct, but you're a very beautiful lady too. (Smiley)

I'm perfectly capable of defending myself against such cheap shots. I did so, in a subsequent post, and it (apparently) drove PX and TE crazy as they are now egging on others to have me banned. Years ago, when I was on the football field, we had a name for fellows who can dish it out but can't take it.

Could you provide more evidence for the 5million? Please repost the article, and show us more evidence than 1 person saying it. I mean 5mill is a big deal, obviously it would be written about often.

Also, please tell what your problems are with the opt out in Menendez? I assume it can't be the opt-out in general, as we all know it would be impossible and unconstitutional to try to get a bill through with no opt outs.
