I answered that above. They'll be on the House site later.

I haven't, but PPA was lobbying on this the entire way. Many amendments were being worked on until the final minute.

Re: HR 2267 Markup, Wed. 7/28 10:00am

A good point is something like Wall ST and insider trading.

Saying regulating it allows us to watch for insider type betting, and to watch for big bettors and make sure they aren't coming from the players or anything like that.

Does that make sense?

If they are all ok with the amendment about clarifying sports betting is disallowed, why is there such a long debate? Edit: Finally, agreed to in 2 seconds.

How r twelve year olds gambling? Don't they need picture age verification, a debit or credit card? How does a 12 yr old have a credit card? This is on the parents and no one else...

Yep...he was talking about me. I heard back the day the column ran.

Re: HR 2267 Markup, Wed. 7/28 10:00am

Amendment introduced by Kilroy (?)

Gives Sec. of Treasury the power to prohibit inappropriate advertising practices. In particular, prohibit unsolicited emails targeting problem populations (minors, problem gamblers). Allows the Sec of T to prohibit search-based advertising where gambling sites link to search terms that target children.

I believe they passed this amendment immediately, i heard an "aye".
