Another brillant use of limited resources. Hell maybe the agents are trying to get rakeback.

And yet another reason to play on Stars.

Maybe the guy was into some other stuff that was actually shady so they're looking into other aspects of the guy's life to get a better understanding of him. Just a thought...

I really don't want to attribute bad motives to someone without overwhelming evidence and/or proof.

I've asked twice now, "What were the questions they asked about Full Tilt?" and have been ignored by the op.

This thread now has more than 11k views, and I'm beginning to wonder if the intent was to draw attention to the op's contact info which has a link to his coaching site, and his bio which offers his services.

So basically when they show up at your house you should just politely decline to speak to them, as it appears they are simply trying to build a case against Full Tilt. And if FT goes down that's going to suck since PS doesn't offer rakeback.

Yes, this is all about rakeback.

if it is true that FBI obtained records from an ISP, how likely is it that they are monitoring ALL internet activity of the players they are questioning?

Most likely collecting ALL activity would be pretty standard. If they need your cooperation and can use other "issues" a helpful Persuasion, they certainly would.

It looks like this "news" has been picked up by several websites. I sure wish people would confirm these things before everyone starts heading for the bunkers.

The portions bolded have not been answered and I find it unusual that they haven't, especially in light of the fact a second conversation took place.

Ask to call your laywer? Too risky, IMO.

If you see the FBI coming, shout "REMEMBER RUBY RIDGE!!" as you barricade your door and get your gun.

So this guy is supposedly a good friend of OP's, right? So...why do we not have more updates to this? Surely there is more info to be gathered then just this second phone call he made.

So what's the deal OP? You can't just write this stuff, and then drop it.

Also, why did you preface your second post containing information from your friend, with "I almost don't even want to post this now"? Is it because you did not get much information from the second call? It does look as though, at least from what you said, that suddenly you are having a hard time "getting a hold" of him? Is he not a good friend? Would you mind asking him to come here and tell his story? Could you give his phone number to The Engineer so that he could interview him?

Surely you wouldn't pass up an opportunity to have The Engineer ask your friend some questions, and answer some of your friends questions.

We'll be waiting for your response. If for some reason this would not work, or be some problem that I can't fathom, please let us know either way. Thanks.

The Engineer: In my last post I brought up an idea and volunteered your name to be able to interview, or talk with op's friend.

I would just like for you to confirm that you would be ok with that, and if not, perhaps offer an idea of who would be good to talk with op's friend.

If it sounds like a good idea to you, then it's op's move, and we will all look forward to his response I'm sure.

Thank you

I'd be happy either to interview him or to discuss the situation to see where PPA or the PPA Legal Support Network could help.

Great! To be clear by "interview" I did not mean interrogate, I simply think it's a great idea to have a chance to talk with someone from the PPA, and it would make OP's friend feel more at ease I'm sure. We all might also get to have a clearer view of what happened.

Please offer this to your friend, OP, this is very important to a lot of people including you and your friend.

Thanks again and look forward to this.

Is there a database that provides more specific details to state regulations? I know California is liberal. (Where I am.) But, just out of curiosity?
