Would you fold this flush? Also... what is the % of my hand winning?

Heads up late in a tournament, board is Td 3c 5h 7d Qd. My hand is 3d 5d. Opponent has half the BB's as me, pot has 80% of my BB's and he goes all in.

Could you post more of the hand history? The action PF, otf, and ott might help with determining v’s range and allow a better answer to your question. Also, what are the payouts for 1st and 2nd? Even if we can answer what your winning probability is, we’d need to know the payouts to determine if you should call or not.

Ah! Sorry, I didn't think to save the hand history. I'm playing offline poker in an app while the Dutch online market legalisation is getting sorted out, and it doesn't record any history. I'll make sure to post it next time!

The payouts for 2nd place is 2x the buyin and 1st place is 3x the buyin.

Ok fair enough. Just looking at what you posted, I’d lean toward a call. I’m assuming you bet the flop since a two pair flop is pretty much a monster heads up. V obviously called the bet, so he likely had some pair, either a pocket pair, Tx 3x or 5x, or maybe 2 overs. It’s possible that he had two overs suited in diamonds to beat you, but that’s only a fraction of the combos in his range.

If I’m understanding your post, you have the equivalent (ratios are important not actual numbers) of a 100 bb stack, pot is 80 and v has 50 left behind. If you fold you have 100/230 = 43.5% of chips in play. Your winning chance is approximately equal to this percentage so your EV for folding is 2.435 buy ins. Calling and losing leaves you with 50/230. = 21.7% and an EV of 2.217 buy ins. Obviously calling and winning has an EV of 3. You are therefore risking 0.218 buyins to gain 0.565. You must win 0.218/(0.218+0.565) = 27.8% of the time to break even.

Considering what you posted it’s a fairly easy call IMO. I can’t get too exact without knowing the action on previous streets but the flush was runner runner, not a flopped draw. This makes it less likely that either of you had a flush — you only had one because you flopped 2 pair. V probability isn’t putting you on a flush. V probably shoves with set, 2 pair, and maybe AA KK or Qx as well as lucky flushes. I don’t think 72% of these combos are flushes so I call

Heads up, I would never fold that flush! The only thing he can beat you with is a better flush. HU, a lot of people go all in with less.
