I get why in sports we don't let ladies compete with men because women are physically inferior. Why do we have to segregate men from women in so far there are ladies only events?

Have you ever walked near a ladies event in progress? They are loud af with the table talk, having a good time. Where a normal tourney the loudest noise is generally chips shuffling and a random person yelling during/after an all in.

And no, with an added thought that it might help women get used to the game more and want to 'play more'. I don't think that seniors are an 'untapped demographic' anywhere near as much as women are .. 50/50 in life but yet very under-represented in the Player pool. GL

If I was a female pro I would push every series to have multiple women only events since there is likely a very significant drop off in the % of entrees who are pros.

Poker tables are pretty intimidating places for new comers, add to that the egos, loss of tempers, lack of hygiene etc. and it's probably difficult to get most women to sit in their first games. Why not have some womens only games to get them used to it?

Im 15-20 years from being a middle aged white man myself, so Im allowed to discriminate. Thats how this game is played.



But realistically the vast majority of the recreational player pool in the US, particularly the southeast where I live and travel around the most, are married middle age white men. And if there is a younger, attractive woman at the table, you can guarantee that someone at the table is going to flirt with her, and generally the woman just smiles and says thank you over and over again and suffer through it, but it has to annoying to face that all the time. Its annoying for me to watch and listen to it.

As a self-deprecating joke it works well as everyone knows the stereotypes are nonsense or no malice is intended, but when race is dropped into a conversation irrelevantly, it becomes a bit more sinister. Personally I don't think noticing race is a useful virtue in a happy society, or a happy self.

Im from the South. So a bunch of guys get married young and then when they are 45 just want to feel like they still got "it", so they hit on younger women whenever they are out without their wife. Waitresses, flight attendants, female poker players/dealers, etc.

In LA people dont get married until they have lived together for 10 years and had 3 kids.

In the south people get married at 18 in order to get laid, or maybe they wait until she gets pregnant.

In America, we like to have it ALL ways, and just pick the way we need at the time we need it.


To defend Ladies events we cite this . . .
1) Women are delicate flowers and need to be kept away from the mean ol' men who abuse them at the table, plus, men scare the women into being quiet with their dominant personalities and egos and such, how can we expect a woman to stand up to that?And besides, why does this bother you so much stupid man?

However, if you want to suggest that Ladies events are sexist and wrong, we can do that too, by citing this . . .
2) Women are equal to men in every possible way, and to imply otherwise is to make you a Neanderthal who should be living in 1940. I mean, there is currently a TV show called "The Equalizer" where a 50 year old overweight woman chases down and kicks the asses of in-shape criminal men half her age and we're all supposed to be like, "yep, totally possible, I wouldnt dare say this is ridiculous"

This is America, we have no standards except the ones we need at the time we need them.
