I’m largely a recreational player now, my normie career has done well enough that it no longer makes sense to put a lot of time into poker. I can realistically only play weekends, and really only Saturday/Sunday because I’m too tired on Friday to want to play much. I still like to play though and do when I’m able to.

I basically only play $5/$10 and higher, I’ll play $25/$50 if it’s being spread reasonably close to me. When I was younger I played a good amount of tournaments, and I’d like to play more tournaments again.

However my options for tournaments are pretty limited. I’m not interested in <$1k events. I would play $2k-$10k events and even fly on a Friday to catch a 2 day Saturday/Sunday high roller.

These events seem very rare though. There are a lot of main events with a final table Monday, but in my career it’s tough to randomly take a day off just because I’m on a final table.

I feel like there are a good amount of people like me, who’d like to play bigger buy in events, if they started on a Saturday morning and wrapped on a Sunday evening. Why don’t these happen more regularly?

Because those running tournaments disagree with your premise that there are enough players like you that will play those tournaments and will not play their current offerings.
