Tournament - combining tables questions WSOP ruling

We run a 3 table tournament every week and wondering: if I was just the big blind at the third table, and we consolidate down to two tables, where I am randomly assigned to be big blind again for that table, can I sit out a hand until the big blind passes me?
I am finding conflicting answers .Some say, you can wait until the button passes, others say it is the luck of the draw and if you get seating in the BB/SB you must pay up.
Looking for WSOP ruling as that is what our club rules typically follow.
Thanks

As in, you are responsible for the blinds?

So if you sat out the bb, who would be the bb on your new table? And why wouldn't they now choose to wait for the button to pass. And so on... you can see why this is a problem.
Its the luck of the draw and if you get put in the blinds then unlucky for you.

It helps you as much as it hurts you.

What you may be confusing this with is a different situation where you do have to wait for the button to pass. This is when you are moved to a seat at an existing table (either to balance tables or because a table is breaking). Suppose the button is at seat 1 at your new table, seat 2 is the sb, seat 3 is empty and seat 4 is the bb, and blinds have been posted. You are then moved into seat 3. In this situation you cannot play either the current hand or the next. On the next hand, seat 2 is the button, seat 4 is sb and seat 5 is bb. You sit out. On the hand after that seat 4 will be the button, seat 5 the sb, seat 6 the bb and you will be dealt in, with play continuing normally thereafter
