I've been on a Facebook break for a couple of weeks, partially because of repeated bans. I'm coming back soon, so maybe you should take a few weeks PAST your already-instated bans. Don't get banned entirely from Facebook.

I'm pretty sure Kyl is deleting all posts regarding poker, HR 2366, cards...etc.

Yeah. Be careful, Drew. I actually haven't been that busy on facebook for the past few weeks -- just in spurts. Nothing like the previous 3 months. So, people like you and other consistant posters for the past 4 months need to be careful. I'm thinking I won't do anything else with my regular account when my suspension ends. I don't want to lose that account. Guess my tweet count on twitter is going to go up significantly.

Just focus on only the super committee. No way that amount will get you banned if you are throwing in likes.

Monday's Action: Tell Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) to Push the Debt Super Committee to Include Online Poker Legislation

As you may know, U.S. House and Senate leaders have appointed twelve members of Congress to serve on the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction. This debt "super committee" is charged with developing policies to reduce the U.S. deficit and then make specific recommendations to Congress which will be voted on. This is a great opportunity for us to make our voices heard.

Let's all go to committee member Rep. Jeb Hensarling's Facebook page today and and let him know that we want the super committee to take action on the online poker issue!

Simply take a moment to sign into your Facebook account, click the “Like” button on the page and then post your message asking him to protect our right to play online poker by supporting HR 2366! Here's the Facebook post on which we should comment. Please "like" the other pro-poker posts there as well.

So far, the pro-poker post with the most "likes" has 32 "likes". Let's bump this to 100+. So, we need 68 more people who care about their rights to volunteer to take this simple action.

Recurring action:Tell the Debt Super Committee to Include Online Poker Legislation

As you may know, U.S. House and Senate leaders have appointed twelve members of Congress to serve on the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction. This “super committee" is charged with developing policies to reduce the U.S. deficit and then make specific recommendations to Congress which will be voted on. This is a great opportunity for us to make our voices heard.

Let's go to their Facebook pages and let them know that we want them to take action on the online poker issue! Simply take a moment to sign into your Facebook account, click the “Like” button on the page and then post your message asking them to protect our right to play online poker by supporting HR 2366!

The names with an “x” in front of them are those who do not allow direct posting on their Facebook wall. No problem for us. Just post a comment in response to a post already on the page. PLEASE BE SENSITIVE about this though. If the post says the Congressperson is being treated for cancer, don’t bother them with poker. Tell them to get well soon. Be sensitive to what’s going on in their state, too – wildfires, tornadoes, hurricanes, flooding, etc. And PLEASE say please and thank you. Courtesy goes a long way.

Oh, and let’s all try to get the bill number correct. It’s H.R. 2366.

Let's all also remember to revisit these walls to like the pro-poker posts and comments made since your last visit. Thanks!

You have to click on previous comments to get to the higher liked stuff.

Click on "view previous comments" and then scroll down a little ways -- three bumps of the mouse should do it.

Please be careful what you are liking though. This post has likes from those I know are pro poker:

Andre Jones On line poker will also increase government assistance for those that are addicted and loose their home. Assistance that the republicans want to take away. Bad idea.

Wrote a quick note to John Kerry today reminding him that the legislation proposed by Barney Frank (who happens to be my rep) fits in with his duty to close the funding gap.

Good job. But note that Barney Frank is just a co-sponsor for the current bills, not the sponsor who officially introduced the bill this Congressional session. You can catch up on all the current legislation here.

For the next one, you should probably do one that allows open posting. Would be much easier for everyone to get involved. ex John Kerry:

1. Like the main page HERE.
2. Like the specific post HERE.

Would be a "10 Second Task". That kind of has a ring to it.

We should have a new "10 Second Task" thread every few days focusing on a specific group or even individual. I like the sound of it and think you'll get more responses/action especially in NVG.

There is an announcement in every forum. It's up to us to step up and make this happen.

When I complained about people's involvement I got this reply:

Little does this person know the more people the more noise you can make. If the same 30 people "spam" the facebook pages it can be ignored, but if there were 100+ different people, notice would be taken. 30 people can only make so much noise.

What I'm saying is people shouldn't just be posting to facebook pages, and mailing to government officials, but they should also be trying to get more people involved.

"Let's make sure we are doing our share and more instead" Getting as many people as possible to participate is our SHARE, so stop telling people to stop complaining about little involvement.

LOL. Isn't advocacy great? We're either not doing enough or we're asking people to do too much. Or it's too hard. Or it's too easy. Or it won't help. Or we're all fcked anyway. Or . . .

The point is, there are thousands of people who visit 2+2 daily, yet I see myself and maybe 10-20 other people who are regularly posting on these facebook pages. Thats a joke, most everyone here supports online poker yet they arent willing to even make some posts on facebook..

Also I would like to thank TheEngineer again for all he does for this effort!

We are in agreement. I have two fb accts and both are suspended as of yesterday for making too many "spammy posts." It is extemely frustrating that more people aren't contributing a few minutes a day.
