seems like participation is up lately!

Suggestion to Rich: Incorporate @PPADailyAction Twitter account into the weekly email to PPA members. Ex) Want to fight for poker rights? Follow @PPADailyAction on Twitter to participate in the plan! (INSERT LINK)

If you include the account name and suggestion to follow it in the weekly email, followers and participation rates will grow exponentially IMO.

Some people don't check poker forums every day or have quit participating in poker forums altogether, but they might update their Twitter religiously. The Twitter account is really the easiest way to reach a massive amount of people.

increasing followers will increase participation rates b/c they will be exposed to the action plan at least once per day on Twitter feed, whereas they might not bother to check 2p2/DC/P5s. If people see a reminder, they will be like "oh, I haven't participated today, maybe I'll do that quick." There is also a sense of ease to the Twitter account. I link directly to each day's action plan instead of linking to the 1st post. For example, followers can go through the tweets on the PPADailyAction profile to directly find action plans for the last few days rather than having to dig through threads on 2p2/DC/P5s. We need to make sure people realize this is an efficient process that is also easy.

EDIT: A YouTube video on the PPA channel describing how/why to participate in the plans would also be good (unless you don't want to organize FoF, etc). Since the technology boom, we have become a visually stimulated and lazy society. We like Twitter/YouTube/technology!

I'd LOVE to see poker have the same status as other skill games, some even card games, which also don't happen to get raked to death nor need legislation and regulation for every single thing they do. Even if we were to just get poker carved out of the UIGEA like fantasy betting was so easily able to attain, it would make me feel much more confident that there would be less threat to destroy the game and more competition which will help the rake.

I absolutely hate the rake model and think it's under handed and could be attacked from a consumer advocate angle, but I fear we are over looking any and all of those types of things just to get something passed asap. I also fear this is the time to get things right and once it's done it'll be just as hard to change as it is now.

I really really am not trying to troll the thread or be a debbie downer or slow any momentum. I think everyone here who is donating their efforts are awesome. These are just concerns I have and I feel like poker is already at it's worse so it cant get any worse and I wish we discussed some other aspects of concern with poker rather than just the legalization and taxation of it (which they surely are focusing on and is a huge plus, but I don't want the game to be a huge target for profitability desires only)

I just wish I knew why it was so easy for home poker, other skill games, fantasy to be legalized etc and why this has to be so scary. I think it's because it's larger and people know it, but that's what scares me, because all they see are $$ signs and people begging to give them those. How did fantasy and skill games get passed without daily action threads and threats from the DOJ and fights with the christian coalition etc? It just seems like it was so easy for them and whatever it is they did to clear themselves from this scorn and threat, we need to do.

I thought we had some leverage to get more before. Then the DOJ showed me how easy it was to remove that leverage. Our main leverage was all the billions going over seas. Without Stars and Tilt that has dropped to a fraction. I now think our only hope for fair rake is competition. What I don’t want to see is someone with control over the rake that can put us in prison for playing on another site.
