I saw this tweeted by @LT22_ & @provostpoker and thought it might be worth a shot.
A bill that is approved by 95% of congress and would be perfect vehicle for us.

Let's all ensure that our elected representatives get plenty of snail mail letters telling them that we wish for them to support our right to play. It will take just a couple of minutes!
  1. If you didn't yesterday, please go HERE for PPA's prewritten, editable letter. Choose "Printed Letter" as your delivery option, edit if you care to, and then click "send letter." The option to open as an .RTF file will open the letters in Word (or your default word processing program). Simply print, sign and send!
  2. For today, please ask your friends, family, spouse, significant other, and everyone else send their own letters. I'm having this sent out to the PPA membership today, so we'll have a big crowd joining us. Let's take full advantage!
  3. Please send a prefilled, editable tweet promoting today's action plan HERE.
When done, please reply in this thread with "sent", "done", etc. to encourage others to participate. The past 68 actions have generated triple-digit participation, so let's keep it growing. Thanks!

If you wish to do more, let's continue reaching out to members of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee via Facebook regarding their Nov. 17th hearing to examine the impact of Internet gaming regulation on Indian tribes. Perhaps say something along the lines of:

The U.S. Congress is considering legislation to license and regulate online poker. As a poker enthusiast, I encourage a competitive marketplace for Internet poker. I welcome a variety of entities to be eligible for Internet poker licensure, including Indian tribes, state lotteries, parimutuel racing, commercial gaming companies, and others that meet appropriate suitability requirements. By allowing for a competitive market, we can ensure the best consumer product and also ensure the greatest amount of revenue.

If you have not done so already, I urge you to please support HR 2366, the bipartisan Online Poker Act, at the November 17th hearing on the impact of Internet gaming regulation on Indian tribes. Thank you.

My wife sent her own letters today, as did a couple friends of mine.

If we offer to print letters for friends and family, having them simply sign and send them, we can probably each get a few people to join in.

did the streak end? We were at 68 yesterday.

Much like the ultimatum I gave my gf this morning, today should be 69 or nothing.

HR 1070, Teh Small Company Capital Formation Act of 2011, passed the House by a vote of 418-1. It was introduced in the House by my rep, David Schweikert.

There is a companion bill in the Senate, S 1544;

Quote:
Latest Major Action: 9/12/2011 Referred to Senate committee. Status: Read twice and referred to the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs.

When I make one daily action plan a continuation of the prior day's daily action plan, I generally count the entire multi-day plan as a single action. So, I'll index this one tomorrow (assuming we top 100 participants, of course).

Another potential way to move these is to create letters for family and friends with the tool, save them to Word, and then email the Word file to them with instructions to print, sign, and mail them.

Hey TE,

Could you give an update on how far you guys have gotten in terms of getting someone adequate in the hearing? What's the plan?

I wonder how much difference would it make to the super committee if we crushed that hearing. Anyway you turn it, looks like an exceptionally important day for us.
