Thinking of moving to Poland for online poker Thinking of moving to Poland for online poker

Hello Polish poker players.
I am thinking of moving to Lodz because seems pretty cheap for the EU.
Is there rake-back on Pokerstars? There's no taxes right? Can you use Skrill on Pokerstars?
As I understand it I can stay for 3 months but then have to prove I have enough funds. What should I tell them since online poker is illegal? I was thinking of just saying professional gambler or just vague self employed. Even if I tell them online poker there won't really be a problem right?
Thanks guys.

No taxes on poker in Ireland either. I'm from there.

If you live outside of Dublin in Donegal or Roscommon, it isn't ridiculously expensive, but not dirt cheap either.

You can access all the poker sites from here.

Unless you go on some kind of a welfare payment, the government leaves you alone, which is pretty nice.

Nice, yea I wanted to go to Ireland but as you said looked ridiculously expensive. Might look into it. Aren't the locals sick of immigrants though? Otherwise it was Slovenia but I think you need permit to stay after 3 months. Malta seems expensive. Austria seems ok. I have already moved to Helsinki its nice but I'm trying to escape the next winter. Also on carnivore diet so need a country with better meat.

I suppose groceries are the same price as they are everywhere else.

Accommodation is a problem.

There are tonnes of Ukrainians here and nowhere to put them all.

So I suppose there is a bit of anti immigration rhetoric going about alright.

Helsinki sounds better to be honest.

From where?

And for my own curiosity, what's "ridiculously expensive " in Ireland?

I Live in the Los Angeles area and a 2 bedroom apartment that's 1000sqft (unsure of you all measure your "flats") and it's $2,600 a month. It's a nice neighborhood and nice unit but I got a good deal on it. What's comparable there in some countries?

From Helsinki I moved here already but I want to escape before the winter. Dublin is minimum 2k a month for apartment doesn't really make sense for me and that will be a shithole as well. I could also go to Danang Vietnam I guess but then there's all this visa stuff as I understand it you have to leave the country every 90 days and come back with a new visa.

Why Vietnam and not, say, Thailand or Cambodia?

Online poker is illegal in Poland and using a VPN is a risky strategy given sites can crack down on users and hold their balances.

I don't think so, it is illegal but nothing is done about it. I regularly see Polish players on pokerstars wouldn't pokerstars be one of the first sites to stop having Polish players if that were the case?
I agree it seems a bit weird going there open to suggestions, maybe Hungary?

I was last in Poland in 2022 and when I tried to log on with my laptop it was impossible to use either of the sites I normally use - 888 or Poker stars. I got in through a VPN but that was for a week's break. Not sure I'd plan my online poker career around living there.

Did you tell pokerstars that you had moved? Wasn't that just because you are not allowed to play there with living in some other country? You might be right I don't know.
Looking at Bulgaria, Austria and Poland atm.

I want to avoid the visa hassle. So yeah probably staying in EU.
I don't mind the cold weather sometimes. Being from a very stormy rainy country most climates are an improvement. Summer is more than enough for me in these countries. SEA and Latam might be too much for me actually.

What country did you holiday from? I know that if it's the UK then you can't same with Denmark. I think 888 is actually one that has completely pulled out of the Polish market. Poland has the checkmark here https://worldpokerdeals.com/blog/pok...ountries-guide so I think I'm just going to go feeling drawn to Poland. Austria has no rakeback so not going there also I remember during the pandie that Austria was one of the worst.
