So a spot came up today that I was a little torn between. I’m playing 25nl and nit opens utg. I flat in middle position with pocket nines. If he was looser I would probably 3 bet but considering he’s pretty tight I decide to just play it more cautiously and flat. Then late position 3 bets, original raiser folds and I flat again like a fish. I flop an overpair with 852 and I check it in flow. He c-bets half pot I call. Turn is a blank like a 6 or something and it goes check check. River pairs the 5 and thinking I’m probably not getting called by much worse I check, planning on calling a bet if he decides to bluff considering I’m unblocking all the Broadway bluff combos. To my suprise villain over bet jams and I tank fold. The interesting thing is I don’t think I get to the river with a better hand, as I would probably lead out tens plus. And even if I did have jacks or tens that check the river, I think pocket nines might be a better call considering the other hands might be blocking some of villains bluffing range. The thing is though overbets are usually not bluffs in low stakes as much as in higher so I think that bet is usually weighted towards value. So in this spot if I’m folding nines, do I just fold everything? I know playing gto is not as profitable in micros because you don’t need to be balanced but I think I can just be exploited pretty easily when I arrive to the river capped.

Block river? It will discourage villian from bluffing and we might get called by worse occasionally

I'm assuming V is on BTN in this hand, the main issue with the hand is preflop. Poor decisions snowball on later streets, you don't want to be calling 3bets oop when our range is capped. You mention range, what is you range? It's face up, mid PP and not much else

We can simplify things by playing 3bet or fold strategy in these positional spots pf and flat more on button if we do want to have a flatting range.

If you have mismanaged your range through the course of the hand such that nothing in your range on the river beats the villain when they bet, then, yes, you fold your entire range.
