Is there any variation of Poker that force each player call the blind every hand ? Is there any variation of Poker that force each player call the blind every hand ?

Hi, I'm 2+2 newcomer and I played poker for a while. Recently I visited my friend's home game playing hold'em forcing every player to call the blind every hand.
I'm living in a country where poker is not legist here.

Is there any variation of poker playing forced calls like this?
Thanks.

What, you mean like an ante?

What you describe is functionally equivalent to a game with an ante and no pre flop betting round. Certainly it is not a standard structure and I doubt you would find it anywhere else, but there is nothing inherently shady or illegitimate about it.

No, not an ante but everyone call the blind before the card is dealt then plays like normal hold'em.

There's pre-flop betting round let's say normally we play a 10/20 game, with 6 players, before the cards are dealt each player put the chip in front of them 20 instead of just 10/20 of SB/BB players as a standard rule. Then play normal pre-flop betting round but there's no SB/BB anymore, every player already call !!!

Strange game, I know.

Okay, you're right, it's ante in the price of a big blind

Yep an ante WITH PF betting. Not a standard game and one you will likely find nowhere else, but certainly nothing shady or inherently wrong about it. Just different from a typical hold ‘em game. Since all players are subject to the same rules, nobody has an unfair advantage. I would think you would open larger and more aggressively in such a game since there is a ton of dead money at the start of the hand

Sounds like it could be a bomb pot too, assuming you go straight to the flop.
