Four players: small blind, big blind, short stack and the button

Blinds are 1,500 - 3,000 - short stack 1,500 - button calls 3,000 - SMALL BLIND FOLDS

Question:
what is the total the all-in player can win?
what is the main pot?
whar is the side pot?
what happens to the small blind?

My home game players say the small blind money 1,500 goes to the all-in player - 1,500 short stack
1,500 from the big blind - plus 1,500 from the button total (6,000).

I say the all-in player can only win three bets; his 1,500 plus the big blind 1,500 and the button 1,500
total (4,500)

The remaing money goes into a seperate pot total (4,500)
and betting continues with any money going into this seperate pot.

Thank you

P. Ross

1500 x 4 = 6000

it goes in the main pot, because everyone covered it.

why? everyone paid the SB, so anyone can win it.

Why do you think the small blind's 1,500 shouldn't go to the main pot?

Not sure why you are confused by this. The fact that the sb folded is not relevant. The short stack is enough to cover the sb, so that sb (plus an equal amount from the money contributed by the other players) goes into the main and shorty is eligible to win it.

Suppose instead that shorty had 3000 instead of 1500. Suppose two limpers as before, sb completes then bb goes all in and everyone folds (other than the short stack of course). How much is short stack eligible to win? Surely you don’t think that bb automatically wins the bets posted by the limpers and the sb do you? The fact that these players folded does not move their chips from the main pot to the side pot. In like fashion, folding does not move the AB’s chips out of the main pot in your posted scenario either.
