Being priority based is one of the key factors that ultimately leads one to success in poker to build an optimally fulfilling poker lifestyle. However, to achieve REAL success in poker, there needs to be a point in where someone says to themselves that they are willing to risk *career opportunities/hometown life/monetary, time investment* to continue climbing the ladder or reach a level of success that allows them to pursue other ventures in life/provide more opportunities.

So with the game-tree of decision making that comes with making these major changes in ones life, what is it that ultimately allows someone the extra push to have the confidence to make these kind of decisions?

You're asking about poker; but the underlying elements of your question are not related to poker; it's related to a topic that is almost ineffable. It's touched on with the term 'greatness' but 99% of the people who are reading this have never actually experienced greatness; and they will mistake doing something well for greatness.

Greatness is moving forward long after you have every reason to quit.

Greatness doesn't ask for the pain to end; it asks for the strength to keep going.

Greatness is walking the same road every single day knowing that one day you will see that roads end.

Greatness is searching for solutions to challenges (The opposite mindset uses challenges as an excuse to quit)

Greatness isn't about having confidence; it's about persevering in the absence of confidence.

Great people don't need to make a decision to keep going; because they already made it when they started their journey.

------------------------------------------

That's the best way I can describe the almost ineffable. Whatever your decision is; you've already made it.
